Winford Waylon Ballard of Geneva, AL, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. He was 79 years old.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Winford  was born in Geneva, AL, on April 16, 1947, to the late James Victor and Flora Grace Ballard. Winford was known for being outdoors and on the hunt for a project. He would always find the opportunity to work on small motors and eventually established a small business that specialized in lawn mowers and other equipment. His passion extended to his yard, where he diligently tended to the flower beds and spent time by his pond, feeding the fish.

Winford is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Judy Ann Ballard; his son, Thomas Waylon Ballard and his wife Angie; and his two grandchildren, Alec Ballard and AJ Ballard, all from Marysville, Washington.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff with Southern Care Hospice and Dr. John Simmons, Sr. for all the love and compassion shown to Winford during this time.
