HOUSTON COUNTY: 12:45 PM ALEA Trooper Arnold went to make a traffic stop of a vehicle traveling around 100 miles per hour. The attempted traffic stop was of a vehicle traveling around 100 miles per hour.
ALEA Trooper Arnold called in pursuit of the vehicle. As soon as in a safe position ALEA Trooper Arnold performed a pit manuever on the suspect. The vehicle wrecked and the driver bailed on foot attempting to out run ALEA Trooper Arnold on foot. ALEA Trooper Arnold bailed his patrol car and took off after the suspect.
With Trooper Arnold in uniform, bullet proof vest, gunbelt, handheld radio, ran after the suspect on foot. The suspect, reported to be 19 years of age, was not faster than Trooper Arnold. He was captured and taken into custody at about 12:52 PM. So the chase was not long.
The suspect, from Auburndale Florida did not have a driver license. Along with being stupid with no driver license, his fleeing first on the vehicle and then on foot has landed him a felony for Attempting to Elude as well as other violations. The suspect will be transported to Houston County Jail.
Cottonwood Rescue was called to the scene, non-emergency, to check the patient before his trip to the Houston County Jail.
Cottonwood Police, Houston County Sheriff Deputies, other ALEA Troopers such as Spencer Adkinson assisted.
