He retired as a supervisor with the Geneva County Road and Bridge Department after 26 years of service. He was an avid gardener who always had a beautiful vegetable garden full almost year around. Of all things he enjoyed, having a meal around the table with family and friends was at the top of his list, especially if they were cooking and eating fried fish. He was of the Assembly of God faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Gene Ellenburg and one sister, Sue Miller.

Wayne is survived by his four children, Lynette Leiser (Jeff) of Dothan, AL, Amanda Snell (Jerry) of Enterprise, AL, Tonya Churchwell (Ernie) of Samson, AL and Michael Wayne Ellenburg (Danielle) of Samson, AL; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, E.J.
