HEADLAND. . .It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Brewer Bedsole, who departed this world peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Wednesday morning, January 14, 2026. Carol has entered Heaven and into the fullness of joy, receiving the crown of life.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the Worship Center of First Baptist Church of Headland with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Headland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:20 in the church sanctuary. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the “Bridge To Tomorrow” Building Fund of the First Baptist Church of Headland, 301 East Church Street, Headland, AL 36345.

Carol was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on April 2, 1941, and was 84. She was a graduate of Trenholm State Community College in Montgomery, AL where she received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Carol’s nursing career began at Southeast Alabama Medical Center as a Pediatric Nurse for five years. She worked thirty years and retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse with ENT Associates of Dothan.

Carol faithfully served more than fifty years in her church teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Many remember her as someone who never stopped finding joy with working with children.

A passion was cooking and baking. Through her generosity, kindness, hospitality, and willingness to serve, Carol touched countless lives-often with something warm from the oven and a heart ready to care for others. She truly was a woman of sincere faith.

Carol’s  greatest passion was her family, who loved her dearly.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Harold B. Brewer, her mother, Helen Stocker Brewer, her step-mother, Myrtle Luick Brewer, two brothers, Chuck Brewer and Butch Brewer, a half-brother, Virgil Brewer and a step-brother, Merle Luick.

Surviving relatives include her husband of sixty-seven years, Thomas Bruce Bedsole, Sr.; a daughter, Nancy Bynon (Steve), Houston, TX; two sons, Tommy Bedsole, Dothan; and Steve Bedsole (Cathy), Hilton Head Island, SC; a sister, Joyce Lenz (Art), Headland; a half-brother, Gary Luick; grandchildren, Trae Bedsole (Becky), Troy Bedsole (Faith), Ashley Caldwell (Doug), Conner Bynon, Rachael Gannon (Jim), and Rebecca Dill (Derek); great-grandchildren, Thomas Bedsole, Sarah Michael Bedsole, Oliver Bedsole, Collins Caldwell, Kade Gannon, Cooper Dill and Addie Dill.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Jack Freeman, Steve Freeman, Trae Bedsole, Troy Bedsole, Brian Forshee and Conner Bynon.

The family would like to express our deepest appreciation to Carol’s caregivers and Gentiva Hospice for their love, support, and compassionate care.
