DALE COUNTY – NEWTON:     
9:42 PM.

Ozark/Dale E911 dispatched Newton Police, Dale County Sheriff Deputies, Newton Volunteer Fire and Ozark Fire and EMS to S HIGHWAY 123 & W HIGHWAY 134.

Reports are motor vehicle accident, with rollover. Reports are a single vehicle accident verses utility pole.

Newton Police arrived and reported at S curve near railroad tracks, power lines down. Patient is reported conscious and talking.

The power company has been notified.

7:08 PM.  Critical Accident 5300 Block Cottonwood Road

7:08 PM. Critical Accident 5300 Block Cottonwood Road

DOTHAN:    6:30 PM.      Dothan 911 dispatched a critical motor vehicle accident in the 5000 block of Cottonwood Road.

Reports to responding units, one vehicle in a yard overturned. Reports to 911 one patient ejected through the windshield.

The vehicle appeared to be traveling north on Cottonwood Road, went off the road on the left side and struck a tree.
When EMS reached the patient reports are the patient was conscious.

Dothan Police requested the CRASH TEAM respond.

Pilcher Ambulance and Dothan Fire Engine 4 ( Southside ) transported the patient trauma alert.

Dothan Police is in charge of accident investigation.

HENRY COUNTY:     12:35 PM     While everyone is enjoying turkey, Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship and Henry County Sheriff Deputies are working.

As soon Survival Flight departed with the accident patient Sheriff Blankenship left responding to call on Henry County Road 57. Reports were a bullet went through the house.

So letting you know, today, Thanksgiving, YOUR Sheriff is on the streets serving and protecting.

Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship and Henry County Sheriff Deputies located where the bullet came from. From a great distance away a family was shooting guns. A bullet traveled a distance and penetrated into the house. This was totally accidental and in no way was intentional.

It was explained that when fired a bullet can travel a distance. What goes up – must come down. And every caution needs to be taken.

This could have been very bad as the bullet entered the dwelling and not far from someone in the house.

NOW …. Sheriff Blankenship has been trying to get home for Thanksgiving with his family. But duty first. If nothing else happens he is headed to eat Thanksgiving.

HENRY COUNTY:     11:14 AM     Henry County 911 dispatched Abbeville Rescue, Screamer Fire, Henry County Sheriff Deputies and ALEA Troopers to a critical injury wreck.

The location is Henry County Road 221, which is a dirt road that runs off Henry County 97 in the area of the lake.

Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship is set up for a landing zone at Baker’s Store area for Survival Flight to land to transport the injured.

This is a developing story at 11:42 AM as emergency units are on the scene. It is reported as a roll over wreck. Unknown the extent or number of injuries.

ALEA – Troopers will be in charge of the accident investigation.

Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship advised Survival Flight has landed. The deputies at the accident report patient loaded into the ambulance and they are transporting to Survival Flight at this time.

UPDATED @ 12:32 PM    

Survival Flight has flown the patient to Southeast Health. The speeds appear between 148 – 153 miles per hour the helicopter is flying the patient. The injuries do not appear to be life threatening but the patient has suffered some broken bones.

6:34 PM Multiple Fire and Fire Alarms

ASHFORD – COWARTS – LOVETOWN:     5:37 PM    Ashford Fire was dispatched by Houston County 911 to a outdoor fire at East U.S. Hwy. 84 and Pleasant Road.

6:06 PM     Ashford Fire Chief Jimmy Posey upgraded to a structure fire. It is at or near Johnny B’s BBQ on Highway 84. Cowarts Volunteer Fire was dispatched.

6:06 PM     Cowarts Volunteer Fire was dispatched to assist Ashford.

6:06 PM     Alabama Forrestry was dispatched to assist Ashford.

6:27 PM    Houston County 911 dispatched Cowarts Volunteer Fire to 4814 Prevatt Road to a fire alarm. Unable to contact key holder. Lovetown Volunteer Fire rolled to this fire and Cowarts Volunteer Fire left this fire and is also responding to Prevatt Road.

Ashford Police and Houston County Sheriff Deputies on the scene assisting. Ashford Rescue is on the scene.

6:40 PM      Alabama Firrestry is on the scene.

6:42 PM      The resident advised Ashford Rescue they did have smoke inside the house but had it taken care of. Ashford Rescue has ambulances at both fire scenes.

DOTHAN:      4:10 PM     Houston County Sheriff Deputies came up on the scene of a motor vehicle accident with injuries, Cottonwood Road and Eddins Road. Dothan 911 was notified and dispatched Dothan Fire Engine Company 4 ( Southside ), Pilcher Ambulance and Dothan Police.

The vehicle involved three vehicles with major damage.

The white SUV was stopped at the stop sign when the wreck occurred. There was one injury which was transported by Dothan Fire Medic 4 and Pilcher Ambulance. Because mechanism of injury was transported trauma alert.

Once Dothan Police arrived the Houston County Sheriff Deputies returned to service. Dothan Police is in charge of the accident investigation.
