COLUMBIA: 08:03 AM Houston County 911 dispatched Columbia Volunteer Fire, Webb Volunteer Fire, Kinsey Volunteer Fire, Houston County Sheriff Department to 105 E. North Street in Columbia to a structure fire.
Reports to Houston County 911 fire possibly in air ducts vents under the house. All residents are outside and small flames inside the unit.
Kinsey Police is also responding. A Houston County Sheriff Deputy said Kinsey could disregard. Unlike the Houston County Sheriff Deputies all Kinsey Police Units are equipped with fire fighting equipment and turn out gear. The Kinsey Police Officers respond along with the fire departments, shuck their police uniform and put on the fire fighting equipment and assist in fighting the fire. All Kinsey Police units have all medical equipment except Lucas Devices which they would love to have but the cost. So when they respond it is not always as a law enforcement officer but as a volunteer fireman or first responder medical unit to assist until EMS is present.
