COTTONWOOD: It was on this day, 13 years ago, that GOD blessed our family with the birth of Brantley Kade Bradley. Brantley is the son of Mike Bradley, Emily and Josh Fails. He has a little brother, Tate Fails.
He has brought 13 years of joy and smiles to our family.
Brantley played Baby Jesus in the Christmas play at Memphis Baptist Church shortly after his birth. His first years of his life were spent at Memphis Baptist Church where Rev. Jim Tate, the nursery workers such as the McCardle family in the nursery and many teachers from there made a huge impact on his life.
He attended Covenant Methodist Daycare. His mother, who lived in Cottonwood, traveled every morning from Cottonwood to West Main Street at Covenant Methodist, and back to the Alabama Welcome Center on Highway 231 at Alabama – Florida line. From there Brantley attended Cottonwood Elementary School. He has attended from kindegarten to now in the 7th grade at Cottonwood High School. Brantley has loved attending Cottonwood and thank you to all who have touched his life and molded him into the fine young man he is.
Brantley now attends WaterMark Church in Ashford. The Senior Pastor, Todd Thorpe has meant a lot to him. The Youth Pastor, Chris Justice and others who have worked with the youth such as John Perkins has had a great impact on his life. He made a profession of faith and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized at WaterMark Church.
His grandmother, Kay Fails, has had a tremendous impact as well as Chip Fails. His aunt and uncle, Jason and Stephanie McCorkle, hus Uncle John Curtis and Uncle Spencer spend a lot of time with him. Some taking him fishing and some hunting.
At the lake Will Benny and Seth Goree spend some time with him.
Brantley’s Uncle Spencer has gotten Brantley into golf. Mr. Ryan Benton teaches Brantley golf lessons so he learns to golf correctly. He loves fishing and when schedules match Colton Trotter is going to teach him bass fishing and the electronics.
Brantley’s dad, Mike, takes him fishing and so does his step dad, Josh.
Brantley has a shunt. He has had three surgeries. Dr. Fred Pich saved his life and Survival Flight, Mark Reyolds, flew him to Children’s for his first surgery. He has to return in December and if his left side does not improve they will have to do another surgery. But Brantley has met those with great bravery.
Brantley, WE ALL OVE YOU and Praise GOD that he has allowed you to be in our life.
DOTHAN: It was 24 years ago, September 11, 2001 at 8:26 AM in the first attack of the World Trade Center in New York.
The second attack was at 9:03 AM. Commercial jets hijacked by al-Qaddafi terrorist flew into both of the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York. It took 42 minutes on one tower and 56 minutes on the second tower to collapse. Taking the lives of 2,977 people.
Of those killed, 343 firefighters, 82 law enforcement officers, 37 port authority police officers, 55 other law enforcement officers.
Today, September 6, 2025, presented by Dothan Fire Department, the WIREGRASS 9/11 MEMORIAL STAIR CLIMB.
CLIMB – HONOR – REMEMBER
Members of Dothan Fire Department, complete with turn out gear, any others who wanted to join, civilian, fireman or others, joined at Rip Hewes Stadium this morning to climb 100 stories to symbolize their heroic sacrifice.

COTTONWOOD: Today, two years ago, a blessing was born into our family with the birth of Tate Cason Fails. Today being his 2nd birthday, wanted to say, HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Tate Cason Fails is the son of Josh and Emily Fails. He is the brother of Brantley Bradley. Grandparents are Chip and Kay Fails and Marsha and Rickey Stokes.
Tate is a very indenpendant 2 year old. He loves to eat and he better get his food as soon as he sits down or he will let you know. He attends daycare in Malvern and WaterMark Church in Ashford.
DOTHAN: 5:20 PM Dothan 911 dispatched Dothan Fire to 330 Bic Road ( off Reeves Street ) to a structure fire. The reports to Dothan 911 were flames visible rom the shed in front of the business.
On arrival of the first Dothan Fire Engine Company they reported a single story commercial structure, flames visible from and attached shed at the front gate. The fire engine company reported the gate was locked and would require a forced entry. The fireman were doing an offensive attack.
By 5:36 PM Dothan Fire reported water on fire, fire knock down. Dothan Fire reported does not appear to be fire inside the business but are attempting to check behind the walls in order to make sure no fire extensions at this time. Dothan Fire reported all clear as to no one inside the building.
Dothan Fire Battalion Chief Ash is the commander on the scene.
5:39 PM Dothan Fire has reported there is some active fire in the walls. Dothan Fire is getting it under control. Dothan Utilities has been notified and the breakers cut off as to power to the building.
GORDON: Houston County Road and Bridge Department has announced the Gordon Boat Landing will be closed for the next 6 – 8 weeks. The closing is due to work being done on the boat landing.
An announcement will be made when the boat landing will be open again.
