Eagle Eye’s Change for Good initiative raised over $32,000 to support six local charitable organizations.
Dare to Hope, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Love in Action, The Ark, Wired Ministries and Wiregrass Hope Group will receive $5,416.49 each.
Eagle Eye got $16,249.45 worth of donations from customers, so they’re matching that number to provide $32,498.90 to each nonprofit.
“We are continually amazed by the generosity of our customers and the power of working together to create meaningful change,” said Mark Anderson, Owner and CEO of Eagle Eye Outfitters. “Our Change for Good
initiative proves that even small contributions can make a big difference in our community.”
Eagle Eye Outfitters remains steadfast in its commitment to giving back, ensuring that the six selected organizations will continue to benefit throughout 2025. In 2026, a new group of six nonprofits will be chosen, with applications opening in Fall 2025 for organizations interested in being considered.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate K9 “Rudy” in his first drug case!

On March 18, 2025 at approximately 6:47pm Deputies with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office S.P.A.D.E. Unit, conducted a traffic stop on US Highway 431 near County Road 212. As a result of the traffic stop, Deputies seized approximately 30lbs of Marijuana. Alfedan Akinlosose, age 32, of Atlanta, Georgia, was arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking. He was booked into the Henry County Jail on $150,000 bond.

The Sheriff’s Pro-Active Drug Enforcement (S.P.A.D.E.) unit will continue to do everything we can to keep our streets drug free and keep drugs out of the hands of our children.”- Sheriff Eric Blankenship

Sunny and warm weather today, Thursday will be much cooler.
With bright blue skies and plenty of sunshine high temperatures today will rise to about 80 degrees. Southerly winds are blowing the warm weather into the Wiregrass and those winds will pick-up this afternoon. After lunch winds will be blowing at up to 15 mph. So just a bit breezy.
Thing big changes blow in late tonight. An approaching colder front will touch off rains after about midnight. Low temperatures should fall to about 58 but there will be very little increase in temperatures after sun-up Thursday.
So Thursday will start with clouds, that should clear out by afternoon. But temperatures tomorrow will be 20 degrees cooler than today. Brisk northerly winds will be 20 to 30 mph and that cool air will only allow temps to rise to just above 60.
Tomorrow night lows will fall all the way into mid 30s. So much colder.
After the Thursday chill, we now resume with our regularly scheduled Spring. Sunshine and warm temps will make for a perfect weekend for outdoors activities.
Randy Morris was officially named Dothan’s City Manager at a packed-house commission meeting Tuesday.
His contract includes a $225,000 paycheck with the opportunity for a $10,000 bonus.
Morris was chosen from the 16 individuals who applied and the 3 who interviewed for the city manager position, but he was already on the job as the Interim City Manager.
An Ozark native, he graduated from Carroll High School and went on to the University of Alabama. He is also a U.S. Navy veteran.
He’s been employed with the city of Dothan since 1998, originally hired as a civil engineer before serving as the water operations superintendent and general services director. He was tapped as the assistant city manager in 2020.
All the commissioners sang their praises for Morris, calling him an effective leader and a great communicator, commending him for doing a “phenomenal” job.
City Commissioner Kevin Dorsey was the first to offer newly-named city manager Randy Morris a gift: a name plate for his office.
Mayor Mark Saliba called Morris “hardworking, faithful, and loyal.”
“He has high integrity of good moral character,” he said. “He’s the right choice at the right time for this city.”
Morris said being named the city manager officially was a great honor.
“It’s a big position and one that I don’t take lightly,” he said. “I sincerely appreciate the commission’s faith in me. I’m very excited.”
He said he’s planning on hitting the ground running, as Dothan is currently undergoing and preparing for many projects.
