WEBB, ALABAMA. . .James David Wade, a resident of Houston County, near Webb, Alabama, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 24, 2025, in a Dothan hospital. He was 94.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 29, 2025, in the Webb Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Sumerlin officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M Monday in the church sanctuary. Entombment, with military honors, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, in the Durden Family Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 2403 Harrison Avenue, Panama City, Florida. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

David Wade was born and raised near Webb, son of the late George Randall Wade and Lulabelle North Wade. He was a 1949 graduate of Houston County High School in Columbia. Mr. Wade served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War era. He was a member of Webb Baptist Church. Mr. Wade was retired as the owner and operator of Wade Tractor Company in Dothan, a John Deere dealership that he co-founded with his brother, Haywood Wade. An avid Auburn fan, he enjoyed watching Auburn football and basketball. Mr. Wade was preceded in death by a son, David Allen Wade, two brothers, Haywood Wade and Marcus Wade and sisters-in-law, Linda Johnson and Gayle Watson Wade.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Martha Williams Wade; a step-son, Michael Durden, Panama City, FL; nieces, Angelia Wade Turner (Cal), Vicki Wade Davis (David), and Amanda Wade Henderson, nephews, Vince Wade (Michelle), Ron Johnson and Roger Johnson; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Johnson; several great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Vince Wade, Andy Wade, Tanner Wade, Cody Wade, Roger Johnson, Ron Johnson and Bruce Gamble.
The family would especially like to thank Dr. Donavon Wewers and his staff for the love and care that has been provided over the many years.

Mrs. Virginia Killingsworth Swick, a cherished member of the Slocomb community for 92 remarkable years, peacefully departed this life on December 23, 2025.
Born on October 11, 1933, in Malvern, she was the beloved daughter of Frank and Eula Palmer Hall. Virginia’s life was a rich tapestry woven with faith, creativity, and an unwavering devotion to her family. A lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Slocomb, her faith served as a guiding light throughout her life and relationships. In the role of a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Virginia embodied love and compassion. The greatest joy of her life emerged from the many moments spent with her family. A gifted painter, she not only found profound fulfillment in her artistry but also fostered that passion in others by sharing her skills and enthusiasm in teaching painting. A love for literature nurtured her mind, as she was never far from the pages of a book. Additionally, her hands brought forth warmth through her sewing and baking, with her handmade creations and delicious treats generously shared among family and friends.
Virginia fell in love and married James C. “John” Killingsworth in 1952, and together they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage until his passing. Even after years of widowhood, Virginia’s enduring spirit continued to shine, and she found love once more when she remarried in 2019 to Floyd Swick—a testament to her hopeful heart and remarkable resilience Virginia’s professional journey also included a dedicated tenure at Sears, where she served for over 20 years, leaving an indelible mark with her strong work ethic and gentle spirit.
Preceded in death by her beloved parents, husbands John and Floyd, daughter Sharon Killingsworth Smith, and sisters Beulah Mae Clark and Robbie Collins, Virginia leaves behind a vibrant legacy. She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Peters and Kim Miller; her grandchildren, including Karie Lucious (Joe), Kellie Smith (Malcolm), Aaron Peters (April), Chris Brannon, Garrett Brannon (Delana), Eric Miller (Heather), Lindsey Anthony (Seth), and Joshua Miller (Jennifer); as well as 21 great-grandchildren and a multitude of great-great-grandchildren, alongside a host of extended family and dear friends.
A service to honor and celebrate Virginia’s remarkable life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Slocomb, officiated by Rev. Brad Price, with arrangements by Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb. Interment will take place at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family invites friends to join them for visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., as they gather to share memories and celebrate the legacy of love and light that Virginia has left in our hearts.
Carolyn Sue Fuller of Hartford passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, at the age of 93.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home, with inurnment to follow in Memory Hill Cemetery.
A woman of deep faith and a loving heart, she cherished the Lord and her family above all else. Her kindness, strength, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her, and she will be lovingly remembered as a truly wonderful woman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Talmadge Fuller and Susie Shelton Fuller; her daughter, Patty Ann Farrar; and her son, Stacy Scott Garrett.
Survivors include her children, Carol Kay Aplin (Donald), Jimmie D. Garrett (Tammy), and Vanessa Sue Lukers (Chris); her grandchildren, Briana Carole Aplin, Warren D. Aplin, Wade Garrett, and Chris Farrar (Kim); six great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P. M. Friday, January 2, 2026, in the Balkum Cemetery, 1153 County Road 55, Headland, Alabama, with Dr. Jerry Grandstaff officiating.
