Kenneth Charles Wilson

Kenneth Charles Wilson

Kenneth Charles Wilson, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, at the age of 64. He was born on June 3, 1961, to the late Fred Wilson and Bernice Turner Wilson.

Kenneth was the proud father of Crystal Merritt (Dustin) and Daniel Wilson, and a devoted grandfather to Kristyle Contreras, Julian Contreras, NovaLeah Merritt, RosaLeah Merritt, and Kylie Wilson, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He built a life rooted in hard work, pride, and love — and he became a father figure to many children who were not his by blood but were absolutely his by heart. He showed up, he listened, he helped, and he loved in a way that left a mark on countless lives.

He was a man of many passions: cars, racing, and anything with an engine — especially working on and talking about them. He loved riding his Harley, the freedom of the open road, and the roar of a motor that felt like music to him. And speaking of music, Kenneth loved it just as much. He would turn it up, moving to the beat, smiling, tapping his feet, or showing off his dance moves. He enjoyed fishing, sitting on his porch, and telling stories that could keep a room laughing or listening for hours. Kenneth also took pride in running the family business, The Jacket’s Nest, and he carried that responsibility with dedication. He was also an iron worker, a true working man, and someone his coworkers bragged on—known for his work ethic, and skill – he never forgot where he came from.

Kenneth loved shooting pool, a good conversation, and he was a proud Alabama and Georgia football fan. He also loved the racetrack in Cottonwood, where his love for racing and the people around it felt like home to him.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Crystal Merritt (Dustin), and his son, Daniel Wilson. He was a proud grandfather to Kristyle Contreras, Julian Contreras, NovaLeah Merritt, RosaLeah Merritt, Kylie Wilson, and he cherished each of them deeply.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 29, 2025, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home, with Pastor Kevin Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Gordon Cemetery, with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Monday, December 29, 2025, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Richard Lee Woodham, Dustin Merritt, Daniel Wilson, Julian Contreras, Jimmy Taylor, and Kenneth Conrad.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing Kenneth is now reunited with the loved ones who went before him — his mother, father, and siblings — whole again and resting in the presence of the Lord.

Carl Ezra Money

Carl Ezra Money

Carl Ezra Money, born July 8, 1936 to Jacob Ezra and Rebecca Everage Money of Luverne, Alabama, left for heaven on Friday, December 26, 2025.

His was a life rooted in faith, service, and devotion to his friends and family. Carl’s faith in Christ was not just something he professed, but something he lived—steadfast, humble, and sincere. A man of strong church leadership, Carl faithfully served his church family at Maple Avenue Baptist Church in Geneva for many years as a deacon, teacher, and volunteer. He loved the church and believed deeply in its mission, giving his time and talent without hesitation. His example of service and unwavering faith left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Carl was a proud veteran of the United States Army National Guard, and his service reflected the love he had for his country. In addition to his forty-three-year career working in advertising for a wholesale food company, Carl enjoyed fishing, gardening, assembling jigsaw puzzles, and pulling for the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Atlanta Braves. Although he retired to Dothan, he spent most of his adult life in Geneva where he served on the city school board, coached youth sports, and volunteered with numerous groups including the Jaycees and Boy Scouts of America. He was also a gifted artist, expressing himself creatively and imaginatively, and found joy in sharing that gift with others. His favorite pastimes included attending and serving his church, appreciating God’s creation by working and playing outside, telling stories from days gone by, and spending time with his friends and family.

Above all else, though, Carl was a loving husband to Gretchen, a proud father to Dawn (Sean Burns), Shannon, and Chip (Kimberly), and a cherished grandfather to six grandsons (John, Evans, Grant, Jacob, Nicolas, and Colton) and a granddaughter (Rebecca). Few things brought him greater joy than creating memories with his family; he loved them fiercely and led them with wisdom, consistency, and prayer.

Carl and his family especially appreciated/appreciate the love and support from many extended family members and friends including Ty, Lisa (niece), and Bayley (great-niece) Beasley, Mike (nephew) and Tina Miller, Charlie (cousin-in-law) and Mable Miller, Gerald Bell and Rebecca Deaton, Nat and Ann Brooks, Randy and Christy Grantham, JoAnn McFarland, Bobby and Maggie Moyer, Ronnie and Cheryl Sanders, and Billy Spivey. After moving to Dothan, Carl and Gretchen joined Ridgecrest Baptist Church where they found blessed spiritual support; the family appreciates the kindness and generosity of their church family. Finally, a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Gentiva Hospice of Dothan for your kindness and care.

A graveside service to celebrate and honor Carl’s life will be held at Ward Wilson Funeral Home (Highway 52, Dothan, Alabama) on Monday, December 29 at 10:00 AM with Reverend Teddy Ward officiating. If Carl ever touched your life, come and be with us.

Flowers may be delivered to Ward Wilson Funeral Home or, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
