Mrs. Sarah Margaret Goolsby, a resident of Dothan, passed peacefully from this life on March 6, 2026, at the age of 91, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her devoted family, wrapped in the same warmth she so freely gave to others throughout her life.
Funeral services for Mrs. Goolsby will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Heritage Baptist Church, 1951 Westgate Parkway, Dothan, Alabama 36303, with Bro. Jeff Ross officiating and Holman Funeral Home of Headland directing. The family will receive friends at Heritage Baptist Church from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Tuesday at Midway Memorial Gardens, 24348 U.S. 31, South, Jemison, Alabama.
Margaret was born May 4, 1934, in West Blocton, Alabama, to the late Huey Lawrance West and Maggie Willard Morse Logan. She was the eldest of five children and learned early the values of hard work, faith, and family. At sixteen, she moved to Birmingham and began a lifetime marked by determination and resilience.
Over the years, she held many positions: bookkeeping, retail management, working in a portrait studio, owning a ceramic shop, and later serving as a Realtor and Broker while living in Arizona. Yet the role she cherished most was that of mother. She was a member of the Daughter’s of Rebekah, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Chilton County Master Gardeners.
Margaret was first married to William David Matthews, with whom she shared many unforgettable years. As an Air Force wife, she spent several years in southern Germany, where she fell in love with the beauty of the Alps. In 1974, she married Hobert “Buddy” Edwin Goolsby, her beloved husband and companion of 46 years until his passing in 2020. Together they spent seventeen years in Arizona, surrounded by the mountains she adored, before returning to Alabama to be near family.
Margaret was also preceded in death by her brothers, Fred Lawrance West and James Robert Logan, and her cherished niece, Tammy Breasseale Woodward.
Margaret leaves behind a proud legacy in her children: Richard David Matthews (Vicki), Kenneth Dale Matthews (Tanya), Sheila Goolsby Baker (Danny), Sylvia Goolsby Pugh (Gordan), and Allen Goolsby. Her love continues through her grandchildren, Nikki Gillespie (Kris), Joshua Matthews (Caitlin), Danielle MacConnell (Thomas), Garrett Wells, Chris Wells (Tiffany), Haylie Hughes (Cade), Michael Wells (Aubrey), Joseph Matthews (Kelly), Steven Matthews (Stephanie), Margaret Paige Pritchett (Mike), Patrisha Matthews, Ben Phillips (Lynsey), Amy Pierce (Brandon), Landon Johnson (Jaime), Lauren Okor (Mamerhi), Graham Pugh, Emma Pugh and Leah Pugh; thirty-nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her dear sister, Doris West Breasseale; her brother, Thomas Douglas West (Barbara); her adored niece, Connie Waldron (Ryan); a host of beloved extended family members, and innumerable faithful friends.
Margaret lived a full and beautiful 91 years. A life rich with adventure, faith, resilience, and deep devotion to family. Her smile was radiant, her laughter contagious, and her spirit unforgettable. She found joy in life’s simple and sacred gifts, such as tending her garden, creating beautiful art, and sharing that beauty she created with the people she loved. She cherished her church family and delighted in gathering the people she loved around her.
Margaret believed people need not always agree, but that there was no room for hatred in the heart. It was a belief she carried throughout her life. She lived with kindness, generosity, and quiet strength that shaped the lives of those around her. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely will continue through the many lives she touched.
Serving as active pallbearers are Joseph Matthews, Joshua Matthews, Steven Matthews, Christopher Enfinger, Cade Enfinger, and Logan Pitchford. Honorary pallbearers are Isaiah Matthews, Ben Phillips, Thomas MacConnell, and Kris Gillespie.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Enhabit Hospice for their compassion and gentle care.
HEADLAND… Cheryl Ann Riley Solomon, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away peacefully Friday evening, March 6, 2026, at a Dothan hospital. She was 78.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 with visitation from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. and the ceremony starting at 2:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Solomon was born to the late Marvin Harold Riley and Ethel Glynn Riley. She was a 1965 graduate of Bay High School in Panama City, Florida. She furthered her education at Gulf Coast Community College and Wallace Community College. She had previously worked as a sales associate at Parisians in the Wiregrass Commons Mall. She also served as a substitute teacher for several years. Her caring heart also let her take care of so many of the elderly as well while working with Hearts Homecare. She was known by many as “Mama Cheryl”. Her favorite pastime was singing Karaoke, and one of her favorite songs she always sang was “He Stopped Loving Her Today”. “Delta Dawn” was her favorite back in her younger years, and she would sing it pretty much everywhere, whether anybody wanted her to or not! She was a member of the Headland Methodist Church.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ligon Thomas Solomon II.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her son, Chris “Biscuit” Solomon; her daughter, Robin Solomon Robinson (Larry); her brothers, Mike Riley (June) and Terry Glynn Riley (Lynn); her grandchildren, Rustin Solomon (Holly Hunter), Skyler Reynolds (Stephen), Harley Waits, Hunter Robinson (Taylor), Conner Robinson (Leah), and Jordan Vick (Jake); and her great-grandchildren, Scarlett Solomon, Oliver Solomon, Laynie Jack Robinson, and James Vick; her sister-in-law, Rhoda Solomon Boone (Robert V. “Bobby” Boone); her brother-in-law, John W. Solomon (Jill); and several nieces and nephews.
Albert Edward Warren III, age 69, of Rehobeth, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at his home.
Albert was born December 5, 1956, in New York to Albert Edward Warren II and Mary Johnson Warren.
He worked for many years as an electrical engineer. Albert enjoyed riding and rebuilding his Harley motorcycles, working outdoors with his cattle, and spending time in his yard. He also loved deep sea fishing and watching football, along with keeping up with the news and weather.
He was preceded in death by his father Albert Edward Warren, II.
Survivors include his mother Mary Johnson Warren; wife of 26 years, Pirkko Weakly Warren; stepdaughter, Liisa Shaffer (Jim Vernon); step-grandchildren, Christopher Shaffer and Courtney Shaffer; one great-grandchild, Rylan Shaffer; and brothers, Walt Warren (Carissa) and Bill Warren (Melissa).
Reba Ann Middleton of Dothan passed away March 5, 2026, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 72. Reba was born on August 13, 1953, in New Mexico,

Reba was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Clyde and Dannye Grace Skipper.
For 46 years, Reba shared a beautiful marriage with her beloved husband, Bob Middleton. Their love was further multiplied with the birth of their son Eric Middleton (Kim), and their daughter, Tara Gibson (Justin).Reba’s love extended to her grandchildren, Preston Brooks, Parker Middleton, and Eva Gibson, and her great-grandchildren, Ryder and Jenson Brooks. She is also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.Reba’s professional life was marked by a remarkable 35-year tenure at GE, where she was a dedicated employee.Reba’s memory will continue to live on through her family.

Kendall Jay Chancellor, 68, passed away on March 4, 2026 in Pensacola, Florida after a brave battle with cancer. Born on October 24, 1957 to Edwin Gesner (E.G.) Chancellor and Jewel Grace Chancellor in Enterprise, Alabama, he was a life-long lover of the outdoors. His many activities included hiking, back-packing, camping, fishing, and pretty much anything he could do outside. He loved bush-hogging, mowing the yard, using his weed eater and growing a vegetable garden and was obsessed with having great grass in his yard. His adventures with his sons were some of the happiest times of his life. His younger son even gave him the nickname of “Sir Camps-a-lot” on one trip. They loved driving out to Colorado and Utah and other parts of the west and stopping at the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo, Texas. They hiked the Appalachian Trail and in Acadia in Maine. Kendall served as scout master when his sons were involved in scouts. He humored his wife by traveling to all the places she wanted to see. He was an avid Alabama fan and enjoyed the games he was able to attend in person with his brother Larry as well as “coaching” them through the television set. He also played many sports in high school.
Kendall was also a Tang Soo Do 5th Dan Master. Tang Soo Do was a huge part of his life for over twenty-five years and he was proud of the Master level he attained before his health forced him to stop practicing martial arts.
Kendall worked as a certified public accountant for over forty years and had many clients who respected and loved him.
Kendall is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sherry Fowler Chancellor and his two sons, Eric (Lindsay) and Rhett. He also had two grandsons he adored, Benjamin and Finn. A life-long cat lover, he had two cats at the time of his passing, Jean-Michel and Pierre.
He is also survived by his sisters, Sandra Tew (Troy) of Birmingham, Alabama, Glenda (Ned) Jones of Geneva, Alabama, Cheryl Marsh of Enterprise, Alabama, and Janet Chancellor of Enterprise, Alabama. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Janice Chancellor, of Chancellor, Alabama, Rhonda Fowler, Pensacola, Florida and father-in-law, Donald Fowler, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much.
Kendall was predeceased by his father E.G. Chancellor, mother, J. Grace Chancellor, Brothers, Jerry Chancellor and Larry Chancellor, sister-in-law, Grace Chancellor, brother-in-law, Lomax Marsh, and great-nephews, Joshua Jones and Andre Black. He was also predeceased by his mother-in-law, Frances Fowler.
Warren Holloway, Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, Alabama are in charge of arrangements. The service, by Donnie Chancellor, will be at El Bethel Baptist Church in Chancellor, Alabama on March 14, 2026. Visitation will be at 12:30 pm and the service at 2:00 pm.
Pallbearers will be Eric Chancellor, Rhett Chancellor, Bruce Chancellor, Keith Jones, Floyd Bellard and Murdock Smith.

Ms. Alberta Louise Marsh Ingle, age 102, formerly of Bonifay, Florida passed away March 5, 2026, at The Neighborhood at Grove Park Memory Care in Dothan, Alabama. She was born on July 26, 1923, in Pennville, Indiana to the late Harold Clark Marsh and Margaret Irey Marsh. In addition to her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Williams ‘Pete’ Ingle, one grandson, ‘Chuckie’ White, her sisters, Judy Johnson and Betty Hall, a brother, Harold ‘Nuni’ Marsh Jr., and a half-brother, Frances Marsh.
Ms. Ingle is survived by her two daughters, Peggy Pelham and Jerry Pelham and Theresa Peacock and Kim Peters all of Dothan, AL; her ‘FAVORITES’ grandchildren, Robert ‘Bobby’ Bruner and Rebekah Savage of Birmingham, AL; one brother, Robert Allen ‘Bob’ Marsh of IN.
Alberta grew up in Penville, Indiana, where she spent much of her childhood with her grandparents. Her family traveled often due to her father owning and operating telephone companies. Eventually, the family settled in Sebring, Florida, where Alberta met the love of her life, Pete Ingle.
Alberta and Pete later moved to Bonifay in the summer of 1962 when Tri-County Telephone Company was sold and Pete was sent to manage the new Florida holdings. Bonifay would become the community where Alberta devoted many years of her life serving others and raising her family.
A gifted seamstress, Alberta lovingly made many of her own clothes as well as all of her daughters’ clothing. She was known for her talent, creativity, and attention to detail. Alberta was also very active in her community. She devoted countless hours to church activities, civic organizations, and many other local efforts that supported families and children.
Alberta lived many happy years in Bonifay before moving to Whitehall Assisted Living in Dothan to be closer to her two daughters. As her health declined, she later moved to The Neighborhood at Grove Park Memory Care, where she continued to be surrounded by loving care.
Throughout her life, Alberta maintained a strong personality, a positive outlook, and a determined spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone around her.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Bonifay First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ryan Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Bonifay Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home and Bonifay Crematory in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 PM Tuesday at Bonifay First United Methodist Church.
