Ruby Lee (Tedder) Morrison, 90, a resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at her residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Glover Funeral Home with DJ Rollan officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home of Dothan directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m., prior to the service.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to, Calvary Baptist Church (Cottonwood), 267 Metcalf Street Cottonwood, AL 36320.
Ruby was born January 20, 1935, in Cottonwood to the late Roy Lee & Mary Naomi Sanders Tedder. She attended Cottonwood School in her early years and worked as a School Bus Driver and Teacher’s Aide at Cottonwood High School. Ruby later worked in sales at Grace’s Fad & Fashion for 14 years. Outside of work, she was an active bowling league member for many years. Ruby was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cottonwood.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donnell Morrison; her three sisters, Alice Fowler, Diane Tedder, and Mary Evelyn Tedder; and her brother, Terry Tedder.
She is survived by her two sons, Donald Morrison (Lorrie) of Dothan, and Randy Morrison (Tasha) of Cottonwood; her three grandchildren, Kane Morrison (Nicole) of Buena Vista, GA, Kendall Thornton (Doug) of Dothan, and Erica Chailland (Jordan) of Doniphan, MO; her seven great-grandchildren, Landon Morrison, Reagan Morrison, Will Thornton, Sam Thornton, Kassie Chailland, Ellie Chailland, and McKenzie Chailland; her two sisters, Faye Battles of Cottonwood, and Sylvia Fischer of Enterprise; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kane Morrison, Landon Morrison, Doug Thornton, Will Thornton, Wayne Jenkins, and Jimmy McCall.

Diane Clara Wiliams, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, July 21, 2025 at Southeast Health Medical Center. She was 89.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.
Diane was born December 7, 1935 in Kingston, New York and lived there the early years of her life and was an aspiring Opera singer. She moved to Virginia in 1967 where she started working for a law firm where she later retired. Diane moved to Dothan in 2023 where she lived the remainder of her life.
Survivors include her husband, David Williams; daughters, Leslie Kingrey (Barry), Lisa Ryan, Tracy Ryan, Jennifer Coppolla (Tony), Heather Williams and Sara O’Neal; son, Thomas Ryan; fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Patricia Effie Segers, known to many as “Pat,” passed away on July 14, 2025, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 70. She was born on December 7, 1954, in Covington County, Alabama.
Pat graduated from Dothan High School and went on to earn her degree from Troy University. She spent more than 20 years working as a lab technician at Flowers Hospital and Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Known for her attention to detail and steady work ethic, she was respected by both her colleagues and the patients she served.
Outside of work, Pat lived a quiet life. She enjoyed browsing local stores, spending time at home, and caring for her beloved dog, Piper. She also appreciated the peace of the beach and had fond memories of her time living in Florala.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward and Annie Merle Jackson Segers, and her brother, Danny Segers. She is survived by her aunt, Joyce Holman; her cousin, Tanya Holman; her nephew, Daniel Preston Segers (Amber); and a circle of friends who will remember her with respect and affection.
Pat will be remembered for her steady presence, her loyalty to those she cared about, and the quiet dignity with which she lived her life.
Susan Carol Summers, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on July 20, 2025, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 77. Born in Montgomery, Alabama, on December 30, 1947, Susan’s life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and the joy she found in her family and faith.
Susan’s early years in Dothan laid the foundation for a life filled with love, laughter, and sports. She carried her passion for athletics throughout her life, often found umpiring or keeping score at various sporting events, her presence a constant encouragement to players and fans alike. Susan’s spirited personality and generous heart made her the matriarch everyone turned to, earning her the affectionate nickname “Grandma Susan or Ms. Susan” among her loved ones.
After obtaining her Associates Degree, Susan’s professional life was as dynamic as her personality. Her colleagues fondly remember her for always keeping everyone straight with her spunky attitude. But it was her role as a devoted mother and grandmother that truly defined her. Susan was the epitome of a loving, faith-filled, and generous soul, qualities that radiated in her every action.
Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry David Summers. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in her children, Brandi (Jeff) Grantham, Britt (Kelly) Speigner, stepdaughter Tina Summers, and her “adopted daughter”, Stephanie Bowman. Her grandchildren, Taylor (Josh) Fleming, Hannah Mock, Reagan Mock, Brandi (Jonathan) Givens, Ryan (Abigail) Grantham, Jacob (Devyn) Grantham, Jackson (Morgan) Grantham, Tyler (Julia) Grantham, and Morgan Sean Austin, will forever cherish the precious moments spent with their grandmother. Susan was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Emma Grantham, Jasper Grantham, Juniper Grantham, Landon Givens, Lucas Givens, Kaleigh Givens, Karleigh Givens, Kenzleigh Givens, Brooks Fleming, Ridge Fleming, and the soon-to-be-born Axel Grantham, all of whom brought immense joy to her later years.
Susan’s sister, Cathy Hall Kirkland, along with her niece, Kacee (Jeremy) Sims, will hold dear the memories of her unwavering support and guidance. Her love for her family was matched only by her dedication to her faith. Susan was a faithful member of Cloverdale Baptist Church in Dothan, where she found strength and community.
A lifelong fan of Alabama football and Braves baseball, Susan’s enthusiasm for her teams was infectious. She was known to light up a room with her spirit and cheer on game days, sharing those moments with anyone around her.
Susan’s life was a living example of the Christian virtues she held dear. Her legacy of love, faith, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. As we say farewell to Susan Carol Summers, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that will forever inspire us to embrace each day with the same love and grace she so effortlessly displayed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Memory Hill Cemetery with Reverend Alan Bryan officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home.
Alice Wavine Carroll Smith of Leonia, FL passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 79 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Leonia Baptist Church with Rev. Rodd Jones and Rev. Thomas Ealum, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. Alice was born September 23, 1945, in Leonia, FL to the late Dallas Angus and Elouise Gillis Carroll. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers and plants, cooking for others and baking her famous 13-layer chocolate cake. She truly possessed a servant’s heart in everything she did for others, never putting herself first. She was employed as a beautician for more than 30 years.
Alice is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ronald Lane Smith of Leonia, FL; one daughter, Rhonda Steverson (William) of Graceville, FL; one son, William “Will” Smith (Kim) of Leonia, FL; four grandchildren, Lee Steverson (Tiffany) of Bonifay, FL, Garrett Steverson (Katherine) of Graceville, FL, Rachel Ward Peters (Spenser) of Slocomb, AL and Lane Smith of Leonia, FL; five great grandchildren, Wrenlee Steverson, Silas Steverson, Henry Peters, Hank Peters and Colsen Steverson; four siblings, Dalton Carroll (Brenda) of Leonia, FL, Ouida Davis of Leonia, FL, Cathy Garrett of Glendale, FL and David Carroll (Theresa) of Leonia, FL and four sitters who had become like family, Rosie Eskew, Theresa Haddock, Stella Wilson and Janet Johnson.

Mrs. Jonella Jessica Whittle of Enterprise Alabama passed peacefully at the age of 73 on Friday July 18, 2025. She leaves behind an everlasting legacy of grace and unconditional love for her family and friends.
Jonella was born on March 22, 1952 in McKees Rocks, PA to the late John and Ann Seroky. Those that were blessed with her love, knew her as a compassionate soul who lived for her family. Jonella was a ray of sunshine, lifting up those around her. She lived life fully and never missed an opportunity to tell you how much she loved you.
She loved music, dancing, and spending time with family. Her faith and devotion to God was the cornerstone of her life. Jonella’s beautiful soul served those around her with compassion, fierce loyalty, and love like no other. She was a friend, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, and her favorite role of all, Grammy to her beautiful grandchildren.
Jonella is preceded in death by her parents John and Ann Seroky, maternal grandparents John and Sophie Drukalski, paternal grandparents Edward and Sophie Seroky, and sisters Mary Seroky and Dee Giessuebel.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Hartford. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Lett of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funera Home. The family will recieve friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. until service time.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Mr. Charles Whittle, son Raimey Whittle and his wife Amanda of Dothan, AL, daughter Jessica Whittle of Newton, AL, son Jonathan Whittle and his wife Kayleigh of Hendersonville, TN, sister Elaine Garcia, brother Ron Seroky, many nephews, nieces, beloved friends, and the pride and joy of her life, her grandbabies Noah, Sophia, Nolan, and Jesella Whittle.
