James Beamon Sims, 87, of Dothan, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025 in Graceville, Florida.
Beamon was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was full of hard work, laughter, and love. After attending school in Opelika, Alabama, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years. Following his service, Beamon dedicated over 25 years of his career to Lance, Inc. After retirement he enjoyed working part time through a company that allowed him to work at Sony helping maintain the grounds and other businesses throughout Dothan.
A man of many talents, Beamon enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and fishing, but nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his family. Known for his sharp wit and playful spirit, he especially loved teasing those he loved most — often with a smile and his weekly margarita in hand.
Beamon is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Richardson Sims; his daughters, Caramon Brightwell (John), Renae Sims, and Heather Hobbs (Johnnie); his grandchildren, Ty Edwards and Tiffanei Bush and her family; his sister, Jeannette Teeple; sisters in love, Sefi Richardson and Debbie Moody. Known by “Uncle B’ to many beloved nieces, nephews and many friends. His “special” daughters, Ronda Eberhart and Amber Hancock and neighborhood son, Diggy Moss.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Tyler Sims; his mother, Ruby Jewel Sims; and his sister, Joyce Gilmore.
Beamon’s’ love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
The services will be held at Ward Wilson Funeral Home, 2414 Hartford Hwy, Dothan, Al, 36305 on Thursday, May 1st, 2025. The visitation for family and friends will be at 3:00 – 4:00 pm and the celebration of life will begin at 4:00 pm. Immediately following the service friends and family are welcome at the residence of Patricia Sims.
MIDLAND CITY… Patricia Ann Windham, a resident of Midland City, Alabama, passed away Thursday morning, April 24, 2025, at a Dothan hospital. She was 74.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 28, 2025, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Pastor Hugh Kirkland officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Windham was born in Graceville, Florida to the late Albert Nellums and Myrtle Mae Holly Nellums. She was a graduate of Graceville High School. She had previously worked with Winn Dixie as the manager of the bakery, and Troy State University of Dothan as manager of the housekeeping department. She was a very active member of TOPS. Patricia was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, in Newville, Alabama.
Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her son Corey Stubbs.
Leaving to cherish her memories are husband, Bascom Windham; her son, Randy Windham (Carol); her daughter, Donna Windham (Jerry); her brothers, Willie Nellums and Danny Nellums (Diane); her two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
NEWVILLE… Donald “Don” Thomas Lowry, a resident of Newville, Alabama, passed away Friday night, April 25, 2025, at his home. He was 86.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at his pond. Close family and friends are invited.
Mr. Lowry was born in Bronx, New York to the late James Lowry and Iris Trimble Lowry. He graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School in 1956. Don owned and operated Don Lowry Plumbing & Heating until his retirement. Don enjoyed hunting and fishing. Enjoyed taking trips with friends to Iceland, Africa, Montana, and North Dakota.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, James Lowry and Russell Lowry.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his daughters, Brenda Lowry, Barbara Ferguson (Richard), and Bonnie Seiger; his sister, Deborah “Penny” Lowry; and his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Terry D. Gibson passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 54 years old.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Danny Branch officiating and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.
Terry was born in Gainesville, FL on October 3, 1970, to Jerry Gibson and the late Frances Tate Tomlin. In addition to his mother, he is also preceded in death by his stepfather, Tim Tomlin.
Terry was a beloved Husband, Father and Son. He loved Lynn ‘Pearl’ Gibson with everything he had. He was a very hardworking man. He worked many years farming with Gibson Farm and then worked at Outdoor Aluminum up until his days of retirement. He enjoyed fishing at Black Creek, hunting and living his life to the fullest.
Terry is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Laura Lynn Gibson of Samson, AL; one son, Blake Gibson (Courtney) of Samson, AL; one grandson, Lucas Gibson of Samson, AL; father, Jerry Gibson (Betty) of Enterprise AL.; one brother, Sean Gibson (Nichole) of Dothan AL.; one sister, Tonya Gibson Gullion (Ed) of Enterprise AL.; two step brothers David Marks (Felix) of Chicago IL.: Johnny Marks (Maureen) of Sacramento Ca.; and several Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Love was born February 6, 1950, in Eufaula, Alabama to the late Artie T. and Annie Lou Thomas Wilson. He worked for many years in the lawn care business and also as a painter. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and yard work. He was a member of Southside Community Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ottie Wilson and Tom Wilson; sister, Lillie Wilson.
He is survived by three sons, Michael Owens of Eufaula, Kenyatta Wilson of Eufaula, and Jimmy Malone of Illinois; two daughters, Lovann Adams of Eufaula and Lovette Malone of Tennessee; sister, Martha Bond of California; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Huey Wooten, a resident of Georgetown, Georgia passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, at his residence. He was 94 years old.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 2:00 pm at First Assembly of God in Eufaula with Rev. Tony Willis officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The burial will follow in Georgetown Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted.
Huey was born November 7, 1930, in New Brockton, Alabama to the late James William and Mary Elizabeth Cody Wooten. He joined the United States Army at the age of 16 years old as an Army Combat Engineer, later became a 1st Sargent and retired as a Major. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his flower garden. Huey was a longtime faithful member of First Assembly of God Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Mary Sue Porterfield Wooten; son, Michael Huey Wooten; 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
Left to cherish his memories are daughter, Deborah Darlene Picard (Gary) of Abbeville, Alabama; sister, Agnes Hartley of Plant City, Florida; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Stephens, Scott Dunn, Davis Dunn, Meredith Rolf, Rebekah Picard, Matthew Picard, and Megan Kinsora (Frank); seven great-grandchildren, Brandon Day, Marissa Lee, Landon Dunn, Devon Turner, Blake Dunn, Rilley Kinsora, and Noah Kinsora; several great-great grandchildren.
