Jerry Mack Seagers Jerry Seagers age 80 of Dothan, Alabama passed away early Wednesday morning, January 1, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral service for Mr. Seagers will be Monday, January 6, 2025, 2 p.m. at Fowler Family Funeral Home (965 Woodland Drive, Dothan, AL) with Pastor Raymond Rivers officiating. Family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Jerry was born October 10, 1944 in Dale County, Alabama to Charlie James and Grace Parramore Seagers. He served in the United States Army and worked as a sheet metal mechanic on helicopters until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling, being outdoors fishing, building things and playing with his great grandchildren. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Grace Seagers. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara Thomas Seagers; daughter April Rhoades (Sherri); grandchildren Sierra Goff (Brandon), Dakotah (Kodi) Hyatt; great grandchildren Tristan Goff, Brayden Goff, Mallie Gray Goff and special cousins and other family members Becky Parramore Owens, Rodney Parramore, Tony Deese, Mike Deese, Joe Seagers and Alan Seagers. Pallbearers will be Rodney Parramore, Brandon Goff, Chad Goff, Eric Hyatt, Cael Hyatt and Brad Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons Tristan Goff and Brayden Goff. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Children’s Home in Eldridge, Alabama.
Donovan “Don” Brooks Bennett, a dedicated family man and respected railroad electrician, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, in Ashford, AL, at the age of 78. Born on December 11, 1946, in Lakeland, FL, Don’s early years laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work, love for his family, and a passion for the outdoors.
Don spent the majority of his career working on the railroad, a job that saw him and his family moving throughout the country. His expertise and dedication eventually led him to the role of an electrical supervisor for the railroad, where he not only contributed significantly to the industry but also formed lifelong friendships and associations. Even after his retirement, Don was often fondly remembered by his colleagues for his reliability and strong work ethic.
For 30 years, Don called Waycross, GA, home, where he and his beloved wife, Becky, raised their two children, Jean and Danny. Despite the demands of his career, he always ensured he was a good husband and father first. Sadly, Don was predeceased by his daughter Jean Bennett. He is survived by his wife, Becky Bennett; his son, Danny Bennett; and his cherished grandchildren, Carter Bennett, Walker Bennett, and Ashley Lang, who will miss their grandfather’s guidance and loving presence.
Don was a true provider for his family, ensuring their well-being and happiness were always at the forefront. His love for hunting was more than a hobby; it was a way for him to connect with nature and instill in his family the value of self-sufficiency. Those who knew him often spoke of his ability to share his knowledge and passion for the outdoors with grace and patience.
Though he and Becky had only recently moved to Ashford two weeks prior to his passing, he had quickly begun to make his mark on the community, sharing stories of his adventures on the rails and in the woods. His absence will be felt not only by his immediate family but also by the many friends and acquaintances he made over the years.
Don’s life was one of movement – from the trains he worked on to the many homes he made for his family. Yet, through all the changes, his steadfast nature and commitment to his loved ones remained constant. He was a beacon of strength and love, and his legacy will continue to live on through the lessons he taught and the memories he created with all who were fortunate enough to know him.
As we bid farewell to Donovan Brooks Bennett, we celebrate a well-lived life, filled with the joy of a family cherished, the satisfaction of a career that made a difference, and the simple pleasures that come from a life embraced with enthusiasm and integrity. Don’s journey may have reached its final stop, but the tracks he laid in the hearts of those he loved will guide them for generations to come.

Geraldine Cowart Duncan, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, in Dothan, Alabama. Born on July 22, 1955, in Cairo, Georgia, Geraldine was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her 69 years.
The daughter of the late Estella and Judge Cowart Sr., Geraldine grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. She was a sister to eight siblings: Evelyn Windom, Soloman Cowart, William Cowart, Judge Cowart, Jr., Earlene Gordon, Teresa Cotton, Terry Cowart, and Darlene Parker. Geraldine’s family was her pride and joy, and she was a central figure in the lives of her children, Sharon Cowart and Bruce Williams, as well as her adored grandchildren, Nick Mathews and Tony Mathews; and son-in-law, Eddie Bryant.
Geraldine’s passion for floral design was more than just a profession; it was a calling that she pursued for over 40 years. Her innate talent for creating beautiful arrangements brought comfort and joy to countless individuals. Geraldine’s gift extended beyond the physical beauty of her creations; she had a unique ability to uplift spirits and make people feel better with her warm presence and the care she put into her work.
Her work as a floral designer was a reflection of her nature. Geraldine was a hard worker, not only in her profession but in all aspects of life. Her dedication to her family was unwavering, and she provided for them with the same love and care that she gave to her floral arrangements. She was a loving person, always ready to offer support and guidance to those around her. Geraldine was known for her honesty, telling it like she saw it, but always in a kind and loving way that left people feeling heard and respected.
Geraldine’s interests extended beyond her work. She was deeply involved in the lives of her family members, and she cherished the time spent with them. A celebration of Geraldine’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Grace Bowden Brunson, age 82, of Enterprise, AL went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 in Medical Center Enterprise.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday, January 4, 2025 at New Home Baptist Church with Rev. Cliff Quincey officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 Noon until service time. Grace was born on June 30, 1942 in Enterprise, AL to the late Feagin and Sallie Mae Bowden. Grace was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mama, grandmother and friend. She also served countless customers during her time working at Bryars Warren Drug Company and Center Drugs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Feagin and Sallie Mae Bowden; her husband Cliff B. Brunson; one son-in-law, Billy J. Montgomery; two granddaughters, Emma Claire and Madilyn Bell Thrash; and her siblings, Ollie Jo Yarbrough (James), Richard Bowden (Katherine), Mary Lunsford and Maylon Bowden (Janice).
Survivors include her two daughters, Jennifer B. Montgomery and Amy B. Thrash; a son, Cliff Byron Brunson Jr. (Ginger); her grandchildren, Trey Montgomery (Amanda) and their two sons, John Thomas and Will Montgomery, Paige Gannon (Dennis) and their daughter, Ayla and son, Jack, Tyler Montgomery (Mariah), Elizabeth Jones (Tyler) and their daughter, Olivia Jones, Gracie, Zander and Brooks Thrash, John Bradshaw (Faith) and their daughters, Gracie, Breleigh, Blakely, AJ and their son, Noah, Dalton Bradshaw (MJ) and Dylan Bradshaw (Elisabeth), and their daughter, Caroline Bradshaw, and one brother-in-law, Collis Lunsford of Bartow, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Winona Alma Hutto a resident of Dothan passed away peacefully at her residence on January 1, 2025, at the age of 91, surrounded by her daughters. Born on May 15, 1933, Winona’s life was a tapestry of love, family, and spirited journeys that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Winona is predeceased by her late husband, Robert Hutto, her sister, Lois Stewart, and her brother Donald Woods, Winona’s memory is honored and her spirit carried on by her loving daughters, Jeanne, Julie, and Janis Hutto. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Martha Woods, and a close-knit family of nieces and nephews, among whom Dr. Robyn Stewart White and Dr. Daniel Stewart hold a special place in her heart.
Winona’s life was one of active engagement and joyous participation. Her love for her church, Highland Park Methodist, was profound, and she was a constant presence in its halls, her laughter and wisdom a comfort to all. She was known for her weekly gatherings with the ladies of the church, where they shared in the tradition of dominos, a testament to her love for fellowship and community.

Daniel Clyde Wilson, 81, a resident of Dothan, passed away, on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at his residence.
Dan was born on June 23, 1943, in Dothan to the late Ross Wilson & Gladys (Floyd) Wallace. He spent his childhood in Houston County, and attended Columbia High School. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served for 8 years, in places such as Austin, TX, St. Petersburg, FL, Washington D.C., and Seoul Korea. After his honorable discharge, he began a career with Air Gas as a sales person, and later working his way to the title of Safety Coordinator.
He is preceded by his parents; his grandparents who raised him, Iverson & Bertha Floyd.
He is survived by his wife, Robbie Wilson of Dothan; and his daughter, Robin Wilson of Birmingham; his caring sister, Evelyn Davis; and several nieces & nephews.
A private burial will take place at Garden’s of Memory cemetery. The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
