Mr. Charlie Thomas Green passed away on July 14, 2026.
Charlie was born in Barbour County, Alabama. He spent several years working in the logging industry before opening his own mechanic shop in Clio. A hardworking man throughout his entire life, Charlie also farmed crops and raised cattle. He was known for his incredible mechanical ability and could fix just about anything. He knew every part of a tractor and piece of farm equipment inside and out, and if something was broken, Charlie could usually get it running again.
Charlie believed in doing things the right way—and that usually meant his way. He was a man of his word, and if he told you he was going to do something, you could count on it without question. Every conversation with Charlie seemed to include a lesson, whether about work, life, or simply doing your best. His wisdom, determination, and unwavering work ethic will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Ann Powell Green; his children, Betty Jean Adams (Dr. Randy Adams), Billy Green (Janine), Becky DuBose (Paul), Donnie Green (Jack Polk), Tony Green, Michael Cartner (Vanessa), and Cheryl Jaimes (Alfredo); 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, with one more expected soon; his faithful right-hand man, Luz Regino; his brother-in-law, Robert Earl Powell (Martha); his sister-in-law, Mary Stidham; along with numerous other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Green and Gustavia Phillips Green; his infant son, Charles Ray Green; and his siblings, James Aaron “Peewee” Green, Lavon Green, Dimple Powell, Olivia Thomas, Rachel Cartner, and Blanche Sutton.
