MIDLAND CITY. . .Donald Eugene Carnley, a resident of Dale County, between Headland and Midland City, passed away Friday morning, July 31, 2026, at his home. He was 91.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 3, 2026, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Phillip Pinyan officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary in Headland. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in the Ino Baptist Church Cemetery, (located in the Ino Community of Coffee County).
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Grimes Methodist Church, 404 Parramore Road, Dothan, AL 36303.
Mr. Carnley was born and raised in the Ino Community of Coffee County, son of the late Owen Jefferson Carnley and Myrter Lee Johnson Carnley. He moved to the Grimes/Midland City area of Dale County in 1963. Mr. Carnley was a member of Grimes Methodist Church. He was retired from Pemco Aeroplex as an Aircraft Mechanic after thirty-seven years employment. Mr. Carnley was preceded in death by his wife, Lavell Carpenter Carnley, an infant daughter, three sisters, Edith Isler, Mary Roberts and Carolyn Barnes.
Surviving relatives include his daughters, Margaret Smith (Acker), Hattiesburg, MS; Wanda Sue Tolar (Ken), Scottsboro, AL; and Kay McKnight (Milton), Newton, AL;
grandchildren, Chad Smith (Sheilah), Bethany White, Andy Tolar, Alan Tolar (Bekah), Aaron Tolar and Kayla Latuso (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Christina Peeples (Andrew), Emma Harris (Bryce), Rhett Smith, Maddie White, Mia White, Marleigh White, Luke Tolar, Angeline Latuso and Rylan Holloway; a great-great-grandson, Cooper Peeples.
Serving as active pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
