EARNEST “BIG E” CASSIDY
ABBEVILLE… Earnest “Big E” Cassidy, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama, passed away Thursday evening, October 16, 2025, at his home. He was 70.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Pastor Jamie Danzey officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday, October 24, 2025, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Cassidy was born in Henry County, Alabama to the late Theo Nelson and Doris Olivia Cassidy. Mr. Cassidy worked in forestry before being medically retired. Earnest loved his family and will be missed.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded by his siblings, Gloria Davis Sewell, Rosa Nelson, Juanita Nelson, Jimmy Nelson, and Marvin Cassidy; and his niece, Johnnie Ruth Roosevelt Beck.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Elizabeth Richards; his children, Bridgette Carthon (Moses), Brenda Jett, Kevin Richards (Lawanda), Latonya Richards, Shanteena Richards, and Rexie Richards; his sister, Alice Nelson Hogan; his nieces and nephews, Doris Williams, Regina Lawrence, Cornelius Nelson, Douglas Hogan (Mary), Lorenzo Hogan (Lynette), Jamar Hogan, and Sherry Lynn (Daniel).
