
Mr. Joseph E. Warren, Sr. of Dothan passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the age of 84.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, May 30, 2026, one hour prior to the service.
Joseph was born in Chesapeake, Virginia, where he also graduated from Saint Mary’s Catholic School. He was a lifelong Aviator. He began his professional flying career with Piedmont Airlines, serving from 1960 to 1963 during a classic era of commercial aviation, combining his passion for the skies with a love for agriculture, he moved into entrepreneurial flying by owning and operating Joe’s Flying Service out of Slocomb, Alabama, where he spent years helping local farming communities thrive. He later transitioned his elite piloting expertise to public service, joining the Georgia Forestry Commission and serving honorably as their Chief Pilot until his retirement. Joseph was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Amelia Williams Warren and a sister, Michie Williams.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Warren of Ocala, Florida; sons, Joseph Warren, Jr. (Silvia) of Crestview, Florida; Stephen Warren (Brandy) of Americas, Georgia; grandchildren, Emily Warren, Jennifer Warren, Jessica Warren, Steven Price, Tiffany Winter, Trinity Warren, Trenton Warren, Emitt Warren, Ellie Warren, great-grandchildren, Oliver Winter, Elliott Winter, special friends, Jerry Killingsworth and Jason Hall.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Killingsworth, Stephen Warren, Jennifer and Jessica Warren, Tiffany Winter, and Joe Warren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Trinity Warren, Jason Hill, and Trenton.
