Roney and Lois Johnson Roney. She grew up in the Headland area where she accepted Christ as her Savior and graduated from Headland High School in 1956. Margie could not say no to an ironing board proposal from Hershel M. Trawick after only seven short months of dating. They married June 29, 1957, a month later. After a year, they relocated to Enterprise, AL where she worked as the head cashier at the Kwik Chek until she became a devoted mother and full-time homemaker. Theyrelocated to Morrow, GA in October 1966. Margie joined the Rock Baptist Church shortly afterward where she and Hershel worked with the youth and later became Sunday School Teachers. Margie was the church hostess for a number of years where she headed the Wednesday night suppers. After moving to Hampton, GA in 2003 Margie became a member of McDonough Road Baptist Church and recently joined Harp’s Crossing Baptist Church. Margie had a great love for Jesus and lived her life to let His light shine through her. She was a wonderfully devoted wife, mother, daughter, nana, sister and friend. Margie enjoyed the simple things in life, like spending time with family and friends whether it be over a bowl of chili, homemade ice cream or playing cards and board games. She was a country girl who liked the outside: gardening, fishing, camping, playing softball and volleyball or sitting around knitting dish rags. One of her most cherished titles was Nana.
