Martha “Kathy” Street, age 77, of Newton, Alabama, passed away on July 16, 2026. Born on March 3, 1949, in Panama City, Florida, Kathy lived a life centered on family, quiet kindness, and an appreciation for the simple blessings that made life beautiful.

For nearly 60 years, Kathy shared a loving marriage with her devoted husband, Glen F. Street. During Glen’s military career in the United States Army, the couple moved often. In 1979, they settled in Newton, Alabama, where they planted roots and created a lifetime of cherished memories. Their enduring relationship was an example of loyalty, resilience, and steadfast devotion that inspired everyone who knew them.

Family was the greatest joy of Kathy’s life. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Tracy Street Watson, and found immense happiness in being a grandmother to Katie Rohn (James P.) and great grandmother to Weylin Rohn. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and her special dog, Jethro F. Street.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Katie Maglich. The love and values they instilled in her shaped the compassionate, caring woman she became, and she carried those lessons with her throughout her life. She was also preceded by her sister, Arlene Fenot.

As a homemaker, Kathy took great pride in caring for her family. She had a gift for making a house feel like home, creating a place where everyone felt welcomed, loved, and cared for. Whether through a warm meal, a thoughtful gesture, or simply being there when someone needed her, she showed her love in countless quiet ways.

She found joy in the beauty of nature. Kathy loved flowers and plants and especially enjoyed watching hummingbirds visit her yard. She had a love for the ocean and treasured the peace she found while sitting near the water. Animals held a special place in her heart, and she enjoyed learning about history and spending time appreciating the world around her.

Traveling was another of Kathy’s favorite pastimes. She especially enjoyed visiting North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Virginia, making treasured memories with those she loved along the way. She didn’t need extravagant adventures, simply spending time with family in beautiful places brought her the greatest happiness.

Kathy will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a woman whose gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her. Her kindness, unwavering love for her family, and quiet strength will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy lives on in the lives she nurtured, the memories she created, and the love she so freely gave.
