OZARK…Mr. Harry L. Jarvis, Jr., a resident of Ozark, died early Tuesday morning, July 7, 2026, in Dale Medical Center. He was 77.

In keeping with the wishes of Mr. Jarvis,  there are no public services planned at this time. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jarvis, the son of the late Harry Leonard Jarvis, Sr. and Hettie Faye Braswell Jarvis, was born in Ft. Benning, Georgia. As the son of a dedicated United States Army serviceman, he spent much of his childhood and young adult years living in different places across the United States and overseas. These experiences gave him a unique perspective on life, allowing him to meet people from many backgrounds and develop a deep appreciation for family, friendship, and community wherever he went.

He graduated from Seventy First High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and continued his education with determination and purpose. He earned degrees from both Wallace Community College and Troy University, where he received a degree in Business Administration. His commitment to learning reflected the strong work ethic and perseverance that would guide him throughout his life.

Mr. Jarvis proudly served his country as a veteran of the Vietnam War. His military service was a source of honor, and he carried the values of duty, loyalty, and patriotism with him long after his time in uniform had ended. Following his service, he made Ozark his home in the 1970’s. Throughout his working years, Mr. Jarvis was known as a dependable and hardworking man. He was formerly employed by Montgomery Ward and later retired from Sam’s Club in Dothan after many years of dedicated service. Whether at work or among friends and neighbors, he was appreciated for his kind nature, steady presence, and willingness to help others.

Outside of work, Mr. Jarvis found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. He especially loved traveling to Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, where he enjoyed the peaceful beauty of God’s creation, the rolling mountains, and the rich history of the area. He also cherished visits to the beach, where the sound of the waves and the ocean breeze brought him comfort and happiness. These special places provided him with treasured memories and moments of peace that he enjoyed sharing with family and friends.

Above all, Mr. Jarvis valued the people he loved. He was a devoted son, brother, family member, and friend whose life was marked by quiet strength, dedication, and a caring heart. He will be remembered for his service to his country, his commitment to his work, his love of travel and the outdoors, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Harriet Littlefield and Mary Elizabeth Jarvis. Their memories, along with his own, remain treasured by the family and friends who loved him and will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Surviving relatives include his two sisters, Teresa Robbins (Joey), Ozark and Kelly Burge (William), Echo Community; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
