Ruth Thompson Anderson, age 90, of Dothan, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Flowers Hospital.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Fowler Family Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.

Ruth was born on July 2, 1935, in Florida to John Benjamin Thompson and Susan Ettie Scott Thompson. She worked as an air traffic controller earlier in her life. She later dedicated her time to serving others as a Pink Lady volunteer at Medical Center Barbour and volunteered at the Senior Citizen Center, where she assisted seniors with resources for medications and other essential needs. Ruth was a faithful member of Covenant Methodist Church in Dothan. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, sewing, reading, and cooking.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Leo Thompson.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 42 years, Malcolm Edward “Jack” Anderson; son, Ronnie Brannon; daughter, Glenda Parrish (Bill); stepdaughters, Karen Anderson and Katherine Anderson; grandchildren, Emily Blumberg, Amy Strozier, and Bryant Parrish (Alexis); great-grandchildren, Brannon Blumberg, Savannah Blumberg, Cameron Blumberg, Sam Strozier, William Strozier, Ruthie Strozier, and Sadie Parrish; brothers, Ben Thompson and Andy Thompson; and sisters, Louise Childs and Ruby Hicks.
