Silas A. Pope passed away Thursday, December 4, 2024 at the age of 83.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
Silas’s early years were spent in the nurturing care of his parents, Houston and Annie Pope, who preceded him in death. He grew up alongside his sister, Nettie B. Hamm, who also predeceased him. Silas’s life was enriched by his loving wife, Robbie Pope, with whom he shared countless memories until her passing.
A devoted father and grandfather, Silas’s legacy continues through his sons, Bobby Pope (Paige) and Doug Pope. His grandchildren, Charlton, Carson, and Dawson Pope, and great-grandchild, Amelia Pope, will forever cherish the wisdom and affection he imparted. Silas is also survived by his brother, Bill Pope (Ann), who will miss his companionship and brotherly love.
Silas’s professional life was marked by a distinguished 23-year career as a nuclear specialist at Farley Nuclear Plant. His expertise and commitment to excellence made him a valued colleague and mentor to many within the industry. Silas’s work ethic and dedication were also evident in his 20 years of service as a Seabee in the Navy, where he completed three tours in Vietnam.
Silas’s love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and it is this love that will continue to inspire those he left behind.
Silas’s life was one of purpose and impact, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of his loved ones and the community he so faithfully served. As we bid farewell to Silas A. Pope, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, service, and devotion. His memory will be treasured, and his spirit will live on through the many lives he touched.
