Wayne Fred Bosse, a devoted husband, cherished family member, and respected veteran, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 76. Born on August 1, 1949, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Wayne was the son of the late Fred and Rylla Bosse. His life was marked by courage, intelligence, and an unwavering dedication to his country and loved ones.

Wayne’s educational journey began at Godwin Heights High School and later led him to Ferris State University, where he earned an Associate’s degree in Drafting. This foundation paved the way for a distinguished 20-year career in the United States Air Force, which he joined in June 1970. His service to the nation included two tours in Korea and participation in the GICM program in 1985. Wayne’s exceptional service was recognized with the Meritorious Service Medal in 1985 and the TAC Commander’s Award for Security Police Professional of the Year in 1985.

After retiring from the Air Force, Wayne applied his skills in security at various casinos and hotels in Las Vegas, where he continued to exemplify the discipline and commitment he had demonstrated throughout his military career. His contributions to his community did not end there; as a member of the American Legion, the USAF Police Association, and the VFW, Wayne remained involved in supporting fellow veterans and their families.

Wayne’s personal life was filled with joy and love, especially shared with his wife of 53 years, Ann Bosse. He was a beloved brother to Carol Carter and her husband, William, and a dear uncle to several nieces and nephews. He had a special place in his heart for his niece, Ginger Sides Curry, whom he regarded as a daughter. Wayne was predeceased by his sisters, Marie Anderson and Lois Hundley, who along with his parents, Fred and Rylla Bosse, had gone before him.

Beyond his professional and family life, Wayne had a passion for woodworking and range shooting. These hobbies allowed him to express his creativity and precision, traits that were evident in every aspect of his life. His work was not only a testament to his skill but also a legacy of the meticulous care he put into every project.

Wayne Bosse lived a life of honor and purpose. His courage and intelligence were the hallmarks of his character, and those who knew him were better for it. He will be remembered as a man who faced life’s challenges with strength and who nurtured and protected the bonds of family and friendship with unwavering devotion.

Military honors will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 1pm at the Sunset Helicopter Pavilion. Wayne will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
