There is a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) for severe weather generally along and west of the Flint and Apalachicola Rivers and a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe weather for areas east to a Tallahassee to Ashburn line. This is for tonight (before Sunday morning at 7am EST/6am CST).
Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible ahead of a line of showers and thunderstorms that will advance east into tonight. The isolated storms ahead of the line, if they develop, will be capable of all modes of severe weather, including damaging gusts up to 60 mph, hail, and tornadoes. The main line of storms will be capable of mainly damaging wind and a few tornadoes.
Sunday (after 7am EST/6am CST):
There is a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) for severe weather for nearly our entire area on Sunday.
A broken line of showers and thunderstorms, some strong to severe, is forecast to march east across the area Sunday morning into early Sunday afternoon. All modes of severe weather remain possible through the event.
Emergency units were dispatched to a vehicle rollover at Highway 231 and County Road 18 in Newton.
Early reports indicate a truck with a trailer full of lawnmowers rolled over, and the side of the road is on fire.

Cottonwood Police were in a high-speed chase with a Yamaha motorcycle, finally ending in a traffic stop on Highway 605.
Cottonwood PD spotted a motorcycle traveling at speeds around 140 mph and driving recklessly in the area of Dhodge Road near the ballparks. The motorcycle moved to Highway 231 before the officers lost sight of him.
Houston County Sheriffs assisted in searching for the motorcycle, looking around Highways 109 and 605 before again gaining a visual on the driver and reaching speeds of 100 mph to chase the driver.
Houston County’s Sgt. McKinney stopped the motorcyclist at Rebel Automotive on Highway 605.
This New Year’s Eve Jeff Golden will bring in 2025 at JG’s Golden Country Showroom. The nightclub recently had the grand opening, and now more and more people are beginning to find out what all the fun and excitement is all about.
Jeff performs classic country, golden oldies, and fun dance music every Friday and Saturday night. And this Tuesday, he will bring in the New Year with free finger food, free pizza, and party favors.
