DOTHAN: A crash on South Oates Street near Southport is causing major traffic delays early Monday afternoon.
The accident was reported around 1:30 p.m. While no serious injuries have been reported at this time, drivers are being urged to use caution in the area.
Authorities warn that vehicles traveling southbound come over the hill quickly and may not realize traffic is stopped or moving slowly ahead.
Motorists should expect delays and consider using alternate routes until the roadway is cleared.
A University of Alabama at Birmingham football player is now facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he attacked two of his teammates at the program’s Football Operations Center on Saturday.
Newly filed court records reveal that Daniel Mincey has been formally charged with attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of redshirt freshman JaSire Peterson, who is from Union City, New Jersey. Mincey is also accused of first-degree assault for allegedly stabbing freshman Joshua Underwood of Fultondale.
Police reported that both Peterson and Underwood were transported to a hospital for treatment following the incident. They have since been released from medical care. Mincey was arrested shortly after the altercation.
DOTHAN: 3:17 PM Dothan 911 dispatched a structure fire at American Wall Zone Supply at 1704 Reeves Street.
On arrival of Dothan Fire Engine Company 5 ( Eastside ) it was determined it was a vehicle fire that was fully involved. Heavy black smoke could be seen from a distance away. It was not a structure fire.
Dothan Fire Engine Company had to enter from Cordova Street to get to the fire.
