10:47 AM Reports of Person Trapped Under House- Bethelehem Road

DOTHAN:     10:24 AM    Houston County 911 dispatched Bay Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Pilcher Ambulance, Houston County Sheriff Deputies to a call of a person trapped under a house.

The 911 call came into the 911 Center from someone not on the scene. The person reporting, not on the scene, reported the floor possibly collapsed on the subject and the person reporting had lost phone contact with the person.

Bay Springs Volunteer Fireman made the wise and correct decision and immediately mutual aid responded Dothan Fire Engine 8 ( Highlands ) to respond also.

Once Dothan Fire Engine 8 was dispatched the Dothan Fire Battalion Chief immediately requested Dothan Fire Engine 4 ( Southside ) where the heavy duty rescue is staged to respond.

Once Bay Springs Volunteer Fire Deputy and Houston County Sheriff Deputy Chance Goldsmith arrived they began making access to the patient. The floor had not caved in on the subject. It appeared that he had been bitten by something.

The subject was removed from under the house. Subject was checked by Dothan Paramedics and Pilcher Ambulance. Dothan Fire Engine 4 ( Southside ) was cancelled once it was determined the house did not collapse on the person.

This area is in/out of the city limits of Dothan. The Bay Springs Volunteer Fireman, SALUATE, you made the right call with immediate mutual aid of Dothan. The Dothan Fire Battalion Chief made the right call with immediate rolling of heavy duty rescue. You roll based on what is reported to the 911 Center until someone arrives on the scene and determines otherwise.

GREAT JOB!
