COFFEE COUNTY – NEW BROCKTON: 1:32 PM Coffee County 911 dispatched New Brockton Volunteer Fire Department, Enterprise Rescue and Coffee County Sheriff Department to a man in distress.
The matter was in the area of County Road 255 in New Brockton. The caller, the victim’s wife, reports the husband is in a deer stand and stuck upside down. The man was reported to be stuck about 20 feet in the air after he was trimming trees using a deer stand.
New Brockton Volunteer Fire has mutual aid requested Enterprise Fire Department to respond with ladder truck. Many of the emergency responders have just arrived on the scene.

In fact your life is on hold somewhat, because you can not place a child on a clothes hanger, place them in a closet, and take them out when you are ready to play and be a parent.
Being a parent is about love, discipline, and creating memories. So create a positive memory for your child or children this Christmas season. Allow your blessing from GOD to have a positive memory of Christmas. Not one of mom and dad or grandparents fussing or fighting, or not following the visitation order of the court and allowing both parents to have time with the children. PARENTS – hold your alcohol and drugs for this Christmas time, and spend quality time with your children.
You will not get a court order to enforce any visitation. Do not call law enforcement because you are acting like selfish idiots and creating negative memories for your children. If you are selfish and do not follow the visitation agreement or work out a compromise on visitation, then you do not deserve to have the child on Christmas. And you are creating nightmare memories for your children. And you are creating nightmare issues for law enforcement that honestly they do not want to fool with. NOTHING you can do to get something enforced, or get a court order.

DOTHAN: 04:24 AM Dothan 911 dispathced Dothan Police, Dothan Fire Engine Company 3 ( Whatley Drive ) and Pilcher Ambulance to an edged weapon assault.
The location is 103 Woodleigh Road, Apartment 3.
Dothan 911 reported to responding EMS units to “stage”, when means stand by close to the scene but do not go into the scene. The suspect is still on the scene.
Shortly after Dothan Police arrived it was cleared for EMS to make entry. By 4:34 AM Dothan Fire Engine Company 3 instructed Pilcher Ambulance to return to service, no patient would be transported.
NOTE: Two calls, 04:13 AM Structure Fire and 04:24 AM Edged Weapon Assault inwhich Pilcher Ambulance ( two member crew and Pilcher Dispatch ) woke up to, responded to, emergency, of which no one was transported. Which is good that no one was injured which required medical transport but both of these emergency dispatched calls, required Pilcher Ambulance to roll with staff that are for free because no one was transported to a medical facility. POINT: A lot of calls EMS responds to – the end result is no transport and no one to bill. And the State of Alabama is PITIFUL in Medicare payments to the EMS Services.

On December 22, 2024 Midland City Police Department investigated an alleged sexual assault involving a juvenile. Thanks to the quick response of the Midland City Police Department. “LAMARTAE BLACK” 18 years old of Midland City Alabama was arrested and charged with sodomy 2nd degree. He was placed in the Dale County Jail and this is an ongoing investigation. A special thank you to the Department of Human Resources and the Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center. No further information will be available at this time.
HENRY COUNTY: 1:44 PM Henry County 911 dispatched Screamer Volunteer Fire Department and Shorterville Volunteer Fire Department to a structure fire. Reports to Henry County 911 it is fully involved and nearby residences are in danger.
Unknown what other departments but possibly Haleburg Volunteer Fire Department and Abbeville Rescue. Henry County Sheriff Department was dispatched also.
The location is 5830 County Road 97. This block appears near the entrance to Stoneridge Subdivison on Henry County Road 97.

ASHFORD: 08:55 AM Houston County 911 dispatched Ashford Fire, Ashford Rescue,Cowarts Volunteer Fire, Ashford Police, Houston County Sheriff Deputies to a structure fire at 329 N. County Road 55. At the time of dispatched Houston County 911 reported to responding units batteries were on fire inside the residence.
On the arrival of Ashford Fire Chief Jimmy Posey he reported this was a working structure fire. Chief Posey said smoke was coming from the doors, this was a working fire, an offensive attack. Chief Posey instructed all incoming fireman to have fire suits on.
Chief Posey reported this was a lithium ION battery fire and structure fire. Chief Posey requested Houston County 911 to notify Dothan – Houston County Emergency Management. Chief Posey also requested additional manpower. Houston County 911 dispatched Lovetown Volunteer Fire and Cottonwood Volunteer Fire.
Just before Cottonwood Voluteer Fire arrived the interrior attack reported inside under control and Cottonwood Fire could be cancelled.
North Couty Road 55 was blocked. There was a fire hydrant directly acorss from the residence that fire engines connected to. Chief Posey said the road would be blocked for an extended period of time due to the batteries. That he was in contact with manufacturer of the batteries because they were still flaring up.
UNCONFIRMED but the batteries were solar batteries which helped power the house.
At 9:47 AM Wiregrass Electric Co-Op was on the scene disconnecting power. ( Alabama Power needs some lessons from Wiregrass Electric Co-Op on responding to emergencies !!!
Ashford Police blocked one side of North County Road 55 and Ashford Rescue blocked the other side. No Houston County Sheriff Deputies were on the scene.
Ashford Fire Chief Jimmy Posey called for notification of Dothan – Houston County Emrgency Management Agency. As of 9:59 AM no one with Dothan – Houston County Emergency Management had arrived on the scene. That is not necessarily the fault of Dothan – Houston County Emergency Management Director Mark Powell, but the fault of the five useless Houston County Commissioners and Chairman who hired him and their instructions – Chairman Brandon Shoupe, D1 Curtis Harvey, D2 Tracy Adams, D3 Ricky Herring who is also a Sergeant with Houston County Sheriff Department who is double dipping, and D4 James Ivey who is also a Captain with Houston County Sheriff Department who is double dipping.
