Fire on Canterbury Farms Road in Dothan

Dothan Fire and Midland City Fire were dispatched to a report of a fire at 173 Canterbury Road.

Initial reports indicated smoke coming from the door and a female running in and out. When fire units arrived, they reported seeing smoke.

Heavy fire is reported to be on one side of the structure, and crews are putting water on the fire now.

Rescue units were dispatched to a two-vehicle wreck at West Main Street and Brannon Stand Road.

Moderate damage was indicated. Early reports said one patient was complaining of head pain.

Dothan Fire EMS Division was requested to return to the scene of the accident, non-emergency. A Dothan Police Patrolman directing traffic was apparently struck by someone’s rearview mirror . Dothan Fire EMS checked the Dothan Police Patrol Officer. No apparent injuries. The officer is being transported to the City of Dothan nurse to be checked out.

ALWAYS pay close attention when law enforcement officers and EMS on the scene of an incident. Slow down, proceed with caution, and look out for those emergency workers who are working on the scene.

No one was transported to a hospital.

6:30 PM Assault – Ozark – Little Caesar’s Pizza

OZARK:       5:21 PM     Ozark – Dale County 911 dispatched Ozark Police and Ozark Fire – Rescue to an assault.

The location of the assault was 1485 Andrews Avenue, Little Caesar’s Pizza in Ozark. Reports are an assault to the manager with an eye injury.

Multiple law enforcement officers are on the scene. Attempted to reach out to the Director of Ozark Department of Public Safety/Police Chief Charles Ward were unsuccessful. Which he might be on the scene.

GORDON:      3:37 PM     Gordon Police Chief Keith Gray is in pursuit southbound from Gordon.

3:39 PM  Chief Gray has reported vehicle has stopped but requested a backup proceed, non emergency. RSN did not catch exact location but around South County Road 81, south bound. Chief Gray reported the vehicle was a Mustang with Florida license plates,

Houston County Sheriff Deputies are on the scene with Chief Gray.

ABBEVILLE:    08:27 AM      Henry County 911 dispatched Abbeville Volunteer Fire – Rescue to a structure fire at Two Scoops and A Dog in Abby Plaza on Kirkland Street in Abbeville.

On arrival smoke was visible. No flames were visible.

Mutual aid response from Screamer Volunteer Fire Department and Shorterville Volunteer Fire Department. Abbeville Police Department and Henry County Sheriff Department were on the scene.

Smoke was visible from Two Scoops and A Dog and the next door building, Bootlegger Liquors. There were no flames visible.

The owner of one of the buildings was able to view from the cameras inside and said it looked as if started in the back room.

The combined departments appear to be getting the source under control. NO flames, just smoke.

UNCONFIRMED with authorities, but sources report a compressor overheated which caused the fire.

DOTHAN:    06:29 AM     Dothan Fireman received a ringdown alarm at 6:29 AM this morning, Christmas Morning, and it was not to a call where Santa was stuck in the chimney.

The call was at 1226 East Coe Dairy Road, Linen Service. The person reporting to Dothan 911 reported flames visible, fully involved.

On arrival of the first Dothan Fire Engine this was a major working structure fire that was fully engulfed.

At 9:47 AM Dothan Fire has scene under control but still remain on the scene. Dothan Police have the road blocked. Pilcher Ambulance has been returned to service but has been on the scene since dispatched.

Dothan Fire Deputy Chief David Hasty has just left the scene and Dothan Fire Chief Larry Williams was on the scene.

The call came in at 6:29 AM.   Dothan Fire changes shifts at 7:00 AM. So some on duty and some coming on duty fought the fire. THANK YOU to the Dothan Fireman. Calls at shift changes probably dramitcally changed some of the fireman Christmas plans.

At 4:17 AM Dothan 911 dispatched multiple Dothan Fire Engines were dispatched to this structure fire with reports of smoke and flames visible.

On arrival of Dothan Fire Engine 4 ( Southside ) they reported flames and smoke on the left side of the structure. Engine 4 made a quick attack and was able to get the fire out. This was a flare up from the original fire. Dothan Fire Engine 4 was able to handle it. All engines returned to service with exception of Truck 1 which remained on the scene as a precaution.
