DOTHAN: 6:48 PM. Dothan 911 dispatched Dothan Police, Dothan Fire, and Pilcher Ambulance to a firearm assault in the 700 block of Hutchins Street, between Lake Street and Pryor Street.
Reports to Dothan 911 indicate a elderly female had been shot.
Multiple Dothan Police and Houston County Sheriff Deputies responded to the area. It is reported to have possibly been a drive-by shooting.
7:09 PM Dothan Fire Engine 1 (Central) Paramedics and Pilcher Ambulance transported to Southeast Health, trauma alert. On scene Dothan Patrol called for Dothan Police Criminal Investigators to respond.
Shortly after this call, Dothan Police dispatched to Target where there were reports of a juvenile chasing another in the parking lot with a firearm. A medical emergency at 6:57 PM on Denton Road, 7:08 PM a medical emergency on John. D. Odom Road. In the county at 7:06 PM, a medical emergency on County Road 9, Cottonwood Rescue already on a medical call as this going on. These are unrelated to the firearm assault but just to show, without notice, how the 911 Center, law enforcement, fire and EMS hit with multiple, different emergencies within a 19 minute period of time. And all were handled with precision from the 911 Center to the field.
SAMSON: Samson Mayor Clay King passed away after a brief illness.
Mayor King has served the Geneva County City of Samson since 1996. He recently underwent surgery in Birmingham. After returning home he had complications from the surgery. Samson Rescue transported the Mayor to the hospital where he coded enroute to the hospital. He was revived. It is reported Mayor underwent surgery again and again coded and had been placed on a ventilator.
Mayor Clay King was a matter of fact type person. Samson is reported to be one of the most financially secure municipalities in Geneva County.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time.
DALE COUNTY: 09:09 AM Ozark – Dale County 911 dispatched Ariton Volunteer Fire – EMS, Dale County Sheriff Deputies, ALEA – Troopers to a critical injury accident.
The accident location is West County Road 72 and County Road 209 in Ariton.
Life Flight was dispatched but canceled. The vehicle is reported overturned and two entrapped with the vehicle on fire.
Multiple law enforcement, to include Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum on the scene. Will update as soon as more information.

Dale County Coroner John Cawley was dispatched to the scene. A single vehicle accident with two occupants. One fatality which was pronounced dead on the scene. The name of the deceased is being witheld until MOnday pending further identification.
The driver, a male subject, was transported with significant but not believed to be life threatening injuries.
