DOTHAN: Ozark – Dale County 911 dispatched ECHO EMS, Midland City Police, Dothan Police, Dale County Sheriff Department and Dothan Fire Engine Company 6 ( Napier Field Road ) to a motor vehicle accident with reports of a critical injury.
At the time of the 911 call the 911 Operators were informed a single vehicle accident, overturned, with entrapment.
As EMS began initial assessment of the patient it was quickly determined the patient had suffered one or more firearm injuries.
The patient was extricated from the wreckage and transported emergency, trauma patient, to a Dothan hospital.
The combined law enforcement officers began working together to determined where, how and by whine the firearm injury(s) took place.
Part of Dothan is within the City Limits of Dothan but in Dale County. As of this writing RSN does not know exaactly where the firearm injury took place. The agencies are working together.
DOTHAN, Ala.) On Saturday, July 4, 2026, at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers with the Dothan Police Department and personnel from Dothan Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a shooting in the 800 block of Hutchins Street.
Upon arrival, first responders located an adult male lying in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Emergency medical aid was immediately provided at the scene before the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The preliminary investigation indicates the victim had recently left a small gathering and was walking home when the shooting occurred.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Investigators are currently attempting to identify and locate multiple individuals who may have information relevant to this incident.

Five-Year-Old Child Dies Following Drowning Incident
At approximately 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2026, the Geneva County Sheriff’s Office and Samson EMS responded to a 911 call reporting the drowning of a five-year-old child at a residence in western Geneva County near Kingston.
When emergency personnel arrived, family members were performing CPR. The child was transported to Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp, where lifesaving efforts continued. Despite those efforts, the child was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The child will be transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the official cause and manner of death.
“This is a heartbreaking tragedy. As families enjoy the holiday weekend, I encourage everyone to pay special attention to children, especially around pools, ponds, lakes, and other bodies of water. Although the circumstances surrounding drowning deaths are unique in every case, constant supervision around water is one of the most important steps parents and caregivers can take to help prevent tragedies like this.”

Ulane Liptrot Jamison has been Brundidge Police Chief since March 2026. Efforts to contact her have been unsuccessful.

Made contact with Brundidge Police Chief Chief Jamison. She confirmed three people shot but are not dead. When asked was case being worked by Brundidge Police and Pike County Sheriff Department, she replied yes and no more information could be released because they were still working the scene.
RSN has later learned that Chief Jamison is not working the case with Pike County Sheriff Department.
Jamison was an Alabama State Trooper prior to her appointment as Brundidge Police Chief. Troopers are not primary investigators of firearm assaults. They normally work motor vehicle accidents and traffic control. Normally the Sheriff of the county is called in to assist smaller departments in the investigation of major crimes. The Chief did not say who was assisting in the investigation.
