ASHFORD: 8:51 PM Former Ashford Mayor Carole Barfield passed away at her home in Ashford.
Mrs. Barfield served as Mayor of the City of Ashford from 2018 until November 2025. Prior to Mayor Mrs. Barfield had served on the Ashford City Council.
Mrs. Barfield took over the reigns of Ashford during some turbilent times, She was a steady hand serve well with dedication.
Our prayers are with Mrs. Barfield’s husband and her entire family.
Glover Funeral Home is in charge of the body and will be making announcements on the Celebration of Life services for Mrs. Barfield.

Slaughter classes 2 to 3 higher. Replacement bred cows and pairs steady to strong . Calves and feeder cattle 5 to 10 higher again, with instances of 15 higher !! All buyers still with good strong orders and needing cattle and creating a very strong Demand ! The market is on fire!!Fed Cattle in the West last week trading at 244 to 246 with Iowa to 252 !

11:38 AM Assault – Trauma Alert – Burglary In Progress
DOTHAN: Dothan kicked off with a bang this morning.
At 8:30 AM, plus or minus a few minutes, Dothan 911 dispatched Dothan Police to a domestic in the 100 block of Hestrom Drive. The call was changed to an assault in progress.
The female vicitm was transported by Pilcher Ambulance and Dothan Fire under a “trauma alert”.
The suspect was non compliant and Dothan Police were forced to use the taser on the suspect. He was arrested and transported to Dothan City Jail. Dothan Fire was called to Dothan City Jail later.
BURGLARIES
Dothan Police and Houston County Sheriff Department responded to two burglary in progress. Not sure the outcome or specific location.
