MIDLAND CITY: 2:56 PM Ozark-Dale County 911 has dispatched Midland City Police Chief Keith Gray, Midland City Police and multiple Dale County Sheriff Deputies to the Dollar General in Midland City.
Reports are a missing child. The child is missing from 3rd Street in Midland City.
Reports are the mother of the child and baby sitter are looking for the child.
Napier Field Police is also searching.
The child is reported to be 3 or 4 years old. Described as a white female last seen wearing long sleeve white shirt and pink shorts.

WASP ( Wiregrass Aviation Suport Program ) helicopter is being launched. Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum is rolling to Midland City also. ALL HANDS ON DECK !!!!

Kinsey Police Chief Jim Mock and members of Kinsey Police Department were responding to Midland City to assist with search when the child was found.

DOTHAN: 09:10 AM Dothan 911 dispatched a structure fire, 802 Blackshear Street in Dothan. Initial reports to Dothan 911, fire on the fron porch, reported by neighbors.
Multiple Dothan Fire Engine Companies responded to the scene. Dothan Fire Engine Company 5 ( Eastside ), Engine 10 ( West Main Street ), Engine 3 ( Whatley Drive ) and Engine 9 ( Technology Drive ). Pilcher Ambulance responded and Dothan Police Patrol.
09:16 AM Dothan 911 reported to responding fire engine companies, Dothan Police on scene and reported flames underneath the porch.
09:16 AM Deputy Fire Chief Ash on the scene. Reports a single story, mobile home structure, smoke under the porch.
09:16 AM Dothan Fire Engine Company 5 ( Eastside ) on the scene.
09:20 AM Dothan Fire Deputy Chief Ash repported fire knock down, under control. Engine Company 5 could handle amd all incoming fire units can return to service.
09:21 AM Deputy Chief Ash called for a Fire Investigator to respond to the scene. Dothan Fire Prevention Officer responding.
OZARK: In about 9 hours from the firearm assault, the Attempted Murder suspect is in custody.
On Monday morning, around 11:30 AM, Ozark-Dale County 911 dispatched Ozark Police and Ozark Fire-Rescue to a firearm assault near Martin Luther King Avenue in Ozark.
On arrival the emergency units found a male subject, conscious and alert, suffereing from a gunshot wound to the torso. The firearm asasult victim was transprted by Ozark Fire-Rescue to a local hospital.
Ozark Police Criminal Investigators initial investigation revealed there was an apparent verbal altercation. The verbal altercation lead to a firearm assault. Ozark Police quickly determined a suspect.
A BOLO was issued for Jerome Darnell Johnson, age 38. The suspect hed fled the scene before officers arrived. Johnson was known to frequest Ozark and Clio areas. Johnson was reported to be armed and dangerous.
Jerome Darnell Johnson was booked into the Dale County Jail at 8:21 PM on Monday evening for Attempted Murder. At this time there is no bond. Johnson will have a 72 hours hearing before Dale County District Court Judge Stan Garner.

Michael “Mike” Dale Marshall
April 2,1962 – March 13, 2026
It is with profoundly heavy hearts that the family of Michael “Mike” Dale Marshall sharesthe news of his untimely passing on March 13, 2026, at his home in Atlanta, Georgia. Mike was 63.
Born in Dothan, Alabama, on April 2,1962, to the late Gayle Bostick Marshall and the late Larry Wood Marshall, Mike was a member of the1980 class of Northview High School, where he graduated with honors. Following high school, he attended the University of Alabama on a full academic scholarship majoringin Biology and Healthcare Administration. While at the University, Mike formedmany lifelong friendships, pledged Phi Gamma Delta, taught Biology as a student professor, had a marvelous timeandgraduated with honors. He was exceptionallyintelligent, undeniably fun,mischievous (in a good way) and 100% unpretentious. He was, as one friend said, “gentle as a flower and tough as boot leather”. Mike was a man who demonstrated personal integrity, loyalty, compassion, kindness, and humor in all things. He was a rabid football fan and spent most of his Fall Saturdays cheering on the Crimson Tide.He was a loving and devoted husband to Jo Ann and a committed and caringfather to John Robert. Mike wasdearly loved by his family and friends. He was a person of substance. His laugh was unique and positivelycontagious, and he was known to be thoughtful and generous, especially to thosein need or with disabilities.Mikecared deeply for “his people” and gave of his time and his heartwithout reservation.
Professionally, Mike enjoyed a long and successful career in hospital administration at various hospitals, including Mobile Infirmary, several Health South Rehabilitation hospitals across the southeast, and later, as CEO of Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis, Alabama. He was a gifted leader, assets manager, and troubleshooter. In many instances, he instituted visionary procedures that brought about dramatic positive changes in the facilities he managed and communities he served. His“open door policy” was more than mere words as he literally removed the door to his office to encourage collaboration and openness amongst hospital leadership and fellow team members.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, John Robert Christian III; brother, Marty Marshall (Cindy); and father-in-law JoeMiller (Mary Lou). He is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann Miller Marshall; brother, Mitch Marshall; sister-in-law, TeresaMiller Norman (Keith); nieces, Anna Marshall McKnight (Dustin), Dr. Rebecca Marshall, Makayla Marshall, Mariah Marshall, and Johnson Norman; nephews, Byrne Norman, Jr. (Kathryn), Miller Norman (Emily), and Harry Norman (Maggie); and many great nieces and nephews.
The date for Mike’s memorial service, which will be held at First United Methodist Church of Dothan, Alabama, has not yet been finalized. Details will be forthcoming shortly and posted on social media and onthe website of HM Patterson & Sons:
