HENRY COUNTY: 1:13 PM Henry County 911 dispatched Abbeville Fire-Rescue, Screamer Volunteer Fire, and Henry County Sheriff to Henry County Road 93 near Judson Baptist Church to a deer hunter which has galled from the deer stand.
Henry County 911 has auto launched Survival Flight. A decision is being made on where to land the aircraft.
Emergency units to include Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship are on the scene.
Reports are the deer hunter fell from the tree stand and possibly has neck injuries.
HENRY COUNTY: 00:44 AM In the early morning hours this morning Henry County 911 dispatched Headland Fire-Rescue, Henry County Sheriff Deputies and ALEA – Troopers to a single vehicle accident on Henry County Road 99 and Henry County Road 165. Persons reporting to Henry County 911 reported a single vehicle, overturned and one person injured.
On arrival of emergency units, to include Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship, the single accident had claimed one life. The vehicle was occupied by the one person, who had been ejected from the vehicle.
Henry County Coroner Derek Wright was then dispatched to the scene by Henry County 911.
Henry County Coroner Derek Wright has identifed the person who lost their life as 33 year old Christopher Layne Barron.
The accident was about one mile from Tumbleton.
ALEA – Troopers in charge of the accident investigation. A single vehicle accident, and only occupant loss their life. No seatbelt was worn.

11:36 PM Ozark-Dale County 911 has rolled EMS. A Dale County Sheriff Deputy vehicle out of service due to damages when struck by suspect vehicle.
11:38 PM Suspect in custody. Suspect was driving a black Ford F-150. At this time it is unknown why suspect was eluding law enforcement but whatever the reason the suspect has another felony, and could have three felonies, one from ALEA – Trooper, Dale County Sheriff Deputies, and Ozark Police, to include damge to law enforcement which could be additional felonies.

A jury returned a guilty verdict Friday morning against James Robert Suggs, convicting him of raping a 95-year-old woman in Cottonwood who suffered from dementia.
Houston County Sheriff’s deputies charged Suggs with two counts of rape in early 2025 after investigators received information about the alleged assault.
According to testimony presented during a pretrial hearing, Suggs took the elderly woman fishing and later transported her back to her Cottonwood residence using a golf cart. Investigator Brandon Barnes, a sergeant with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, testified that Suggs sexually assaulted the victim while she was on the golf cart.
Barnes further stated that Suggs removed the woman’s diaper during the assault.
Suggs, 53, is scheduled to be sentenced next month following the completion of a presentence investigation.
DOTHAN: 08:44 AM Dothan 911 dispatched a structure fire at 907 Walnut Street in Dothan. Reports to Dothan 911 smoke visible from roof, can hear popping inside the residence, and roof caving in. Reports are a two story residential structure.
Multiple Dothan Fire Engine Companies, Pilcher Ambulance and Dothan Police are responding.
