Deborah Reynolds, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, in her hometown of Dothan, Alabama, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 17, 1959, to George and Earline Boykin, Deborah’s early life in Dothan set the stage for a lifetime of compassion, achievement, and devotion to her loved ones.
A proud graduate of Dothan High, Deborah excelled academically, graduating with honors in 1977. Her intelligence and beauty led her to a brief modeling career, a chapter of her life that saw her grace and poise shine brightly. However, her heart remained in Dothan, and after living in Ohio for 15 years, she returned to her roots in the early 90s, where she would remain for the rest of her days.
Deborah’s Christian faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She began each morning with the sacred ritual of reading her Bible, drawing strength and guidance for the day ahead. Her deep faith was evident to all who knew her, as she lived a life of selfless service, always putting others before herself.
Her passion for life was matched by her love for her family. She is survived by a loving and grateful family, including her son, Demetrius Boykin; daughters, Dewanda Turner and Chenoa Peterson; and her cherished grandchildren, Kennedy, Kayden, Zavannah, Jatayvious, Jesta’ro, Zeniquah, Dorrian, Skye, and Wesley. Deborah’s legacy also lives on through her siblings, Jerome, Gregory, and Leslie. She was preceded in death by her devoted parents and her siblings, Isac, George Jr., Janas, and Oscar Boykin.
A woman of many interests, Deborah found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid fan of the television show NCIS, and her spirit came alive with the thrill of dance. Her good heart was not just a personal trait but a gift she shared generously, especially with her beloved children and grandchildren. Deborah’s enthusiasm for Alabama football was infectious, and game days were always a special time of togetherness and celebration for her family.
Those who knew Deborah will remember her as loving, faith-filled, and selfless. She was a woman who gave without expecting anything in return, and her impact on the lives of those around her was profound and lasting. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and she will be remembered as a true servant of God, always ready to extend a helping hand and a warm smile.
Deborah’s life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we take solace in the knowledge that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Her memory will be cherished, her lessons remembered, and her love felt forever in the hearts of those she touched.
A celebration of Deborah’s life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, August 16th, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home with Tiffany Blackmon Trailer officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
