Angelyn Bass, 77, of Bellwood, AL, departed this life peacefully on December 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith.
Born on October 10, 1948, Angelyn was the cherished daughter of the late Algus and Annie Forehand. Throughout her life, she embodied the qualities of a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, reflecting her unwavering love for God and those around her. Her nurturing nature and kind spirit made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Angelyn is survived by her beloved husband, Jimmy Bass, her daughter Deann Martin and her husband Brandon, along with her adored grandchildren, Dakota, Annslie, and Benjamin. She also leaves behind her siblings, Betty Wood, Edward Forehand, and Eugene Forehand, as well as several nieces and nephews who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
In addition to her parents, Angelyn was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Forehand, and her brother, William Forehand.
Angelyn will be lovingly remembered for her strong faith, compassionate heart, and the abundance of love she shared with family and friends. Her gentle spirit lit up the lives of those around her, and her presence will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Angelyn ‘s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Chancellor Assembly of God, with Rev. Larry Mock and Rev. Ray Layton officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. Interment will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery.
The family invites friends to gather at the church from 11:30 a.m. until service time to honor and remember Angelyn together.
OZARK. . .Thomas Lee “Tom” Clements, a resident of Ozark, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 13, 2025, in a Dothan hospital. He was 92.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 15, 2025, in the Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 1971 Deese Road, Ozark, with Pastor Kenneth Hale, Pastor Jim Hill and Pastor Scott Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Tolbert Baptist Church Cemetery, 4305 County Road 45, South, Headland. The family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Monday in the sanctuary of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clements was born and raised in Newville, Alabama, son of the late Hughie Green Clements and Girlie Elizabeth Taylor Clements. He lived in Columbus, Georgia before moving to Ozark in 1959. Mr. Clements retired in 1976 as Store Manager at the Army/Air Force Exchange at Ft. Rucker. He was an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where he volunteered as a Supervisor in maintenance. Mr. Clements also volunteered with the Dale Baptist Association and with Brown Bag in Ozark. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louette Cooper and Betty Jean Clements.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Ethel Brown Clements; a daughter, Jan Lewis (Danny), New Hope Community of Coffee County; a son, Gary Clements (Lynda), Brewton, AL; a sister, Sara Nell Wiggins, Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Clayton Lewis (Shayna), Erica Bailey (Abe), Shelby Herring and Jantzen Clements; great-grandchildren, Jack Bailey, Harvey Bailey, Liam Lewis, Luna Lewis, Cal Harrison and Kayla Crews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Paul Woodham, Bob Littlefield, Matt Barron, Ronald Wright, David Rogers and Kevin Hile.

Mr. Herman Lambert, age 89, died Friday December 12, 2025, in Hoover, Alabama at the home of his son and daughter-in-law.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. (EST) on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Ausmus Cemetery in Speedwell, Tennessee with his Grandson Reverend Aaron Johnson officiating and Walters Funeral Home in LaFollette, Tennessee directing.

Mr. Lambert was born on October 6, 1936, in Speedwell, Tennessee, the son of William Pryor Lambert and Rachel Owens Lambert. He grew up with 11 siblings in Speedwell, TN. Herman loved nature, family, music, and basketball. He was very adventurous and visited 39 States during his lifetime. Mr. Lambert was a value member of Duke Power Company before retiring and he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jay, Dewitt (Curly), Lee and Denny Lambert; sisters, Carol Edwards, Ann Goins and Paulette Pebley.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Kathryn White Lambert; daughter and son-in-law, Lourie and Vernon Johnson; 5 grandchildren, William Lambert, Laney Lambert, Vinson Johnson, Mary Reagan Fulbright and Aaron Johnson; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Keith and Bill Lambert; 2 sisters, Peggy King and Martha Lambert.
Pallbearers will be William Lambert, Laney Lambert, Vinson Johnson, Tim Morrow, Charles Bronson and Jeff Hollingsworth.

OZARK…Hunter L. Andrews, a resident of Ozark, died late Wednesday evening, December 10, 2025, in Ozark. He was 23.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 5:00 P.M. Friday, December 19, 2025, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chad Ingle officiating. Hunter was born on May 11, 2002, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and from the very beginning he brought joy and energy into the lives of those around him. He grew up surrounded by the beauty of the mountains, which helped shape his love for the outdoors. In 2020, he proudly graduated from Doherty High School, carrying with him not only an education but also friendships and memories that meant the world to him.
In 2023, Hunter made the move to Ozark, Alabama, where he began working with Andrews Auto Salvage. He found satisfaction in putting his hands to work, especially when it came to automobiles. Cars weren’t just machines to him—they were puzzles to solve, projects to perfect, and a way to express his skill and creativity.
Hunter had a zest for life and a love for adventure. Riding BMX bikes gave him freedom and excitement, and he could often be found darting around with a smile on his face. He enjoyed spending time at Happy Times in Ozark, playing darts with friends, laughing, and soaking in the simple pleasures of good company. Being outdoors was another passion—whether camping under the stars, hiking in the mountains, or relaxing by the beach or lakes, Hunter felt at peace in nature.
What truly defined Hunter was his love for people. He valued time spent with his friends, cherishing every laugh, every story, and every shared moment. He had a way of making those around him feel welcome and appreciated, and his presence brought warmth wherever he went.
Hunter’s life was full of energy, curiosity, and heart. He lived with a spirit of adventure, a love for the outdoors, and a devotion to the people he cared about. His memory will live on in the stories told by his friends, the projects he worked on, and the countless moments of joy he shared.

John Morris Knowles, a cherished patriarch, devoted serviceman, and beacon of kindness, passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 84, in Birmingham, Alabama. Born on July 1, 1941, in the small town of Daviston, Alabama, John’s life began in a humble log cabin, where the skilled hands of a blind doctor and a caring midwife welcomed him into the world. His strength and courage were evident from the very start.
John’s life was one of service and dedication. He proudly served in the United States Army for over 26 years, retiring with the esteemed rank of Master Sargent. His commitment to his country was matched only by his commitment to his family and his faith. After his military service, John continued to apply his strong work ethic as he transitioned to the civilian sector, working at a furniture company before eventually working with a finance company.
He was a man who adored his family above all else. John is survived by his loving son, Brandon Knowles, and daughters, Marsha (Tim) McElveen, Jammie Knowles, and Paula Knowles Whitehurst. He was a proud grandfather to Nic (Janna) McElveen, Savana (Johnny) Glover, John Cody (Rachel) Northcutt, Owen Heath (Madeline) Knowles, Trevor Knowles Whitehurst (Kathleen Powell), and Charity LeeAnn Knowles. His legacy will continue to flourish through his great-grandchildren, Emberlin, Charlie, Max, and Scout McElveen, Eden and Zane Glover, and Maverick Northcutt. His sisters, Olean Catrett and Ava Mason, along with several nieces and nephews, will hold his memory in their hearts.
John was a God-fearing man whose kindness and generosity knew no bounds. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, embodying the spirit of Christian charity. His stories were legendary, often filled with humor and wisdom, making him a beloved figure not only within his family but also within his community. His skilled hands were not just for storytelling, as he was also a passionate woodworker, creating beautiful pieces that his family will treasure forever.
A faithful member of Harvest Church, John’s faith was an integral part of his life. It provided him with strength and comfort, and he made sure to pass on these values to his family. John’s life was a testament to the virtues of courage, kindness, and faith.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Sunset Memorial Park, a tribute to his years of service and dedication to his nation.
