BAUXITE, ARKANSAS. . .Janet Campbell Johnson, a resident of Bauxite, Arkansas, formerly of Headland, died early Monday morning, June 9, 2025, at her home. She was 70.

Graveside services will be held at 9:30 A.M. Friday, June 13, 2025, in the Headland Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiating. The family will receive family and friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that daylilies be planted in memory of Janet.

Janet Johnson was born in Dothan, daughter of the late Curtis Carl Johnson and Janelle Sue Graddy Johnson. She was a 1972 graduate of Headland High School and received a B. S. Degree in Elementary Education from Troy University. Janet later received a Masters Degree in Early Childhood from the University of Alabama. She formerly lived in Headland and Panama City before moving to Bauxite, Arkansas in  2014. Janet formerly taught Kindergarten at the Headland Primary School and Abbeville Elementary School where she retired. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Headland. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Carl Johnson, Jr.

Surviving relatives include her daughters, Katherine Holt, and Sydney Vincent (Jeffrey), all of Bauxite, Arkansas; grandchildren, Mason Mills, Alexander Vincent, Cooper Vincent and Logan Vincent; a special former sister-in-law, Lisa Stelter (Bob).

FREDERIC “FRED” EARL WALL, SR.

HEADLAND… Frederic “Fred” Earl Wall, Sr. a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Saturday evening, June 7, 2025, at his home. He was 80.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Wall was born in Augusta, Georgia to the late Doctor Earl Wall and Odessa Higgs Wall. He was a 1964 graduate from Academy of Richmond County in Augusta, Georgia. He attended Kennesaw State College and later graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Augusta State University. He served his country as a Aviation Electronics Technician in the United States Navy from March 1, 1965 until honorably discharged on April 30, 1969. Mr. Fred was a dedicated member of Shriners International and was also a member of the Browns Crossroads Masonic Lodge #529. He had previously lived in Lilburn, Georgia before moving to Headland, Alabama five years ago. He was a member of the Union Freewill Baptist Church.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Nell Taylor Wall; his son, Frederic “Eric” Earl Wall, Jr. (Trish); his sister, Elizabeth Warren (Tom); and his grandchildren, Steven Thomas Wall (Kori) and Kevin Patrick Wall.

Henry Lee Stone of Newville

NEWVILLE… Henry Lee Stone, a resident of Newville, Alabama, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at a hospital in Dothan. He was 59 years old.

Born in Swainsboro, Georgia, Henry was the son of the late Curtis Stone, Sr. and Yvonne Callaway. After graduating high school, he worked for many years as a dedicated warehouse manager. Henry found joy in life’s simple pleasures—fishing, boating, and bike riding—but his greatest happiness came from spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by a son, Nelson Lee Stone; grandchildren, Marcus Eggleston, Amiene Castro, Shakina Stone, Deyonce Lissone, Sevin Lissone; brothers, Kevin Stone and Curtis Stone, Jr.; a sister, Carolesia Stone.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Stone; his children: April Wynns, Amber Wynns, Gwendolyn Stone, Henry Stone, Jr., Isaiah Stone, Roebeccalynn Lissone, Wayne Everitt, Jr. (Marlene), Sande Castro, Gloria Condrey (Bernard), Kerrisue Barthol, Chastity Freeman, Veronica Peryear; brother, Leonard Stone; sister, Angela Stone; along with twenty-eight grandchildren and twenty five great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other cherished family members and friends.

Henry’s warmth, laughter, and love for his family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Mrs. Fannie Mae Bennett was a resident of Ashford Alabama with her loving Husband L.C. Bennett of 66 years. She was employed at West Tex of Ashford. and Dothan Mfg. Co. She loved her gardening and flower and loved the outdoors, and she loved making quilt and baking.

She was preceded in dead by her husband L.C. Bennett her (son) Willie McGriff, (son) Lonnie Charles Bennett, her (Mother) Lula Mae McGriff, (Father) Samuel McGriff, (Sister) Jessie McCLyde,( Sister) Martha Francis, (Brother) Paul McGriff, (Brother) Joe E. McGriff.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her 8 children Martha Anderson, Brenda Bennett, C.L. Bennett, Raymond Bennett, Rosie Herring (BJ) Janice Coleman, Dorothy Ross (Anthony), Jacquelyn Bennett.

She had 15 grandchildren, Brenda McGriff, Rionte’ Kirkland, Denise Peterson Willie McGriff, Artenio Bennett, Laderius Anderson, Anthony Bennett, Rekeyias Anderson, Shaquille Coleman, Vanteriese Massaliene, Kiana Salazar, Malik Ross, Ne’Khael Ross, NiKaylah Ross, Christopher Bennett. 24 great grands, 3 great great grands, and a host of nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, friends, sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, other relatives and friends.

Fannie was the beloved sister of Nellie Sanders, Barbara Newton, Delores McGriff, Ike McGriff, Eddie McGriff, Mose McGriff her memory will be treasure by all she was also call (Doll) to those who held her dear, Fannie’s presence was a constant in Houston County, where she lived her entire life.

Described by many, she was loving, kind, and generous. She will be deeply missed, her memory will continue to inspire and guide us.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, June 13, 2025 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Argan Carroll officiating.

Frances Joanne Heinmiller of Cottonwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on February 8, 1937, in Springfield, Ohio, Frances lived a life marked by love, faith, and creativity.

Frances was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Edward Murphy and Bessie Cox Murphy; her son, Benny Lawrence; her sister, Marlene Turner; her brother, Robert Murphy; and her grandson, Edward Bullion. Her memory will be treasured and kept alive by her family, including her daughters, Tina Pelles of Slocomb, AL, Carol Crampton (Terry) of Cottonwood, AL, and Leanna Gipson (Archie) of Cottonwood, AL. Frances was a special mother-in-law to Gay Lawrence of Cottonwood, AL, and a proud grandmother to Toni Whitehead, Jessica Crum, Jamie Spencer, Jenny Lawrence, Justin Gentles, Cindy Bullion, Morgan Bullion, Michelle Bullion, and Heather Alexander; and several great-grandchildren.

A devout member of the Southside Jehovah’s Witnesses of Dothan, Frances’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found great joy in studying her Bible and sharing her beliefs with others. Her artistic talents were evident in her beautiful drawings and paintings, which brought beauty and inspiration to all who had the pleasure of seeing them.

Frances’s adventurous spirit often led her on road trips, where she delighted in discovering hole-in-the-wall eateries and sampling their fare. These journeys were not just about the destinations but the experiences and memories created along the way.

Ora Belle Todd, was called home to the Lord on June 5th, 2025. Born on July 6th, 1932, in the quaint town of Campbellton, Florida, Ora Belle was a remarkable woman and generous to all who knew her. She departed this earthly realm, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and unwavering strength.

Ora Belle was the cherished daughter of the late Johnnie Williams and Nellie Curry Williams. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband of 74 years, Roscoe Todd, Sr. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring commitment. Ora Belle was a loving mother to her children, the late Roscoe Todd, Jr., the late Carolyn Williams, and her surviving daughter, Marilyn Todd and son-in-law, McArthur Williams. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, Gladys M. Todd, Roscoe Oliver Todd, Orethia Todd-Tolson, Johan Laurent, Branden Todd, and Maya Grubbs, as well as her numerous great-grandchildren, who will carry her spirit forward.

Ora Belle was the sister to Geraldine Morris (Willie), the late Dean Williams, Helen Thomas (Rayfield), and Oralisha Williams. Her life was a testament to the bonds of family, and she extended her love and generosity to her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends who became family in her heart.

Throughout her life, Ora Belle was a pillar of her community where she resided in Miami, Florida, the majority of her adult life before retiring and moving to Alabama. She worked tirelessly as a caregiver, pouring her heart into the well-being of others. Alongside her family, she ran Todd’s Hardware/Bait and Tackle, a cornerstone of the local economy, and helped her husband manage their real estate properties with a keen eye and a warm smile. Her work ethic was matched only by her spirit of service and her dedication to her family and community.

Ora Belle was a Proverbs 31 woman through and through. She found solace and strength in the Psalms and lived her life with a sweet spirit that was both fearless and kind. She stood her ground and spoke her mind, embodying the grace and dignity of a true Southern lady. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she was a friend to all, never hesitating to extend a helping hand or a word of encouragement. Her children and her family were the very heart of Ora Belle. She nurtured them with love, guided them with wisdom, and supported them with unwavering faith. Her love for camping and fishing, her joy in music and dancing, love of cooking and baking (-especially her mac and cheese and pound cakes), and her fondness for her feline companions reflected the richness of her life. As a military wife, she embraced the adventure of travel, even learning to speak French, and brought a sense of home to every corner of the globe she visited.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, June 14, 2025 from the Springfield AME Church, 4194 Union Road, Marianna, FL  32446 with Pastor Larry Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 AM until 10 AM, Saturday, June 14, 2025 prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery in Dothan, Alabama.

The repast will follow the interment at Harvest Church in the Fellowship Hall.
