NEWVILLE… Bernestine Reynolds, a resident of Newville, Alabama, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026, at her home. She was 72.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Wright Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Reverend Acy Tucker, Jermain Knight, and Hal Reynolds Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church of Newville Cemetery.

Mrs. Reynolds was born in Headland, Alabama, to the late George Brown and Bernice Keyton. She attended local schools and went on to dedicate many years of her life to working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, where she was known for her compassion and gentle care.

A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Newville, Mrs. Reynolds lived a life rooted in love, kindness, and devotion to her family. She was truly a loving family woman who found her greatest happiness at home, surrounded by those she cherished most. She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren, who brought immense joy and meaning to her life. Her warm spirit, caring heart, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who know her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Reynolds; her sisters, Gloria Jean Reynolds and Dorthy Nell Key; and her brothers, Willie James Brown and George Brown.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Oscar Reynolds; her daughters, Shalonda Kogutz (Sean) and Bernetta Simpson (Derrick); her sons, Ervain Reynolds (Cassandra) and Curtis Reynolds (Valeria); her sisters, Ella Mae Brown,                                                                                                                                                               Lavera McClain; her brother, Eddie Brown; her sixteen grandchildren; her ten great-grandchildren; and her several other loving family members and friends.

Delores Voncile Murphy Catrett of Samson, AL passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026. She was 87 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL with Rev. Woodie Dupree officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Voncile was born in Webster, FL on September 10, 1938, to the late Charlie Franklin Murphy and Martha Evelyn Davis Murphy. She was an excellent Southern cook who enjoyed canning and preparing meals for her family. She also loved sewing, collecting cookbooks, writing down recipes, attending Living Waters Church, and traveling with her family. Ms. Catrett was affectionately known as “Granny,” “Mamaw,” and “Meme” to her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Catrett; and six siblings, David Murphy, Gene Murphy, Harvey Murphy, Steve Murphy, Joyce Register, and Stanley Murphy.

She is survived by her son, Tony Catrett of Samson, AL; her daughter, Marie Browning (Nathan) of Karnack, TX; seven grandchildren, Nathaniel Catrett (Toni), Curtis Catrett (Angela), Michael Joreski (Amanda), Luke Browning, Jared Browning (Leah), Trevor Browning, and Cleve Browning (Gabby); great-grandchildren, Ethan, Keely, Skylar, Ian, Ethan, Tyler, Travis, Kyrie, Jacob, Cooper, Logan, Sam, Mila, Hailey, Emily, Claire, Katie, and a number of other special great grandchildren; and one sister, Crystal Murphy Perkins Olive (Fred) of Taylors, SC.

Jesse Jerome Hall, 93, a long-time resident of Dothan, passed away, Sunday, April 12, 2026, at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Malvern Baptist Church with Reverend Hosea Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Pinckard Memorial Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home of Dothan directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until 2:15 p.m., prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted.

Jesse was born February 10, 1933, in Geneva County to the late Manuel & Addie (Spivey) Hall. He spent the early years before later moving to Columbus, Georgia. He was a graduate of Jordan High School in Columbus. Following graduation, Jesse served in the United States Army for three years at Paratrooper. After his military service, he worked for the Sunshine Biscuits in Columbus for 12 years, before moving back to Geneva County where he then worked as a carpenter. Jesse began a career with the State of Alabama working for 25 years before his retirement. In his later years, Jessie enjoyed farming row crops. He was a member of Malvern Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his two sisters and one brother; his son, Gary Hall; and his daughter, Wynona Driskell.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Beverly Clark Hall; daughter-in-law, Barbara Hall; five grandchildren, Anna Marie Driskell Copeland, Michael Driskell, Garrett Hall (Caroline), Bart Tillman Hall (Anna Brooke), and Jarred Hall (Kesli); and three great-grandchildren, Raylee Hall, Madison Hall, Brooks Hall, and one on the way.

Sarah Nell Phillips of Homosassa, Florida, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was born in Cullman, Alabama on October 5, 1936 to Ozzie and Elizabeth Bennett. On March 6, 2026, Sarah passed away to be with her savior Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her, husband, William Earl Phillips and son, Gaines Lee Phillips. Sarah was a loyal friend, devoted wife, loving mother, and wonderful grandmother who loved her beautiful yard and entertaining friends and family. When you entered the door of Sarah’s home, you knew you were welcome and would experience lots of love, laughter, and friendship.

Sarah was also a devoted Catholic who was active in her church, St. Benedicts in Crystal River, Florida. She was survived by five children: William (Billy) Allen and Dyann Phillips of St. Augustine, Florida; Sarah and Len Clewett of Petawawa, Canada; Wendy and Scott Leftwich of Nashville, Tennessee; Jessica and Barry Tierce of Dothan, Alabama; and Kathleen and Kevin McCarthy of Memphis, Tennessee; eight grandchildren: Elizabeth and Jay Eichelberger of Atlanta, Georgia; Caroline Leftwich, Atlanta, Georgia; Bill Leftwich, Nashville, Tennessee; Lindsay Leftwich, Atlanta, Georgia; Kyle Clewett, Wuhan, China; Claire Smith, League City, Texas; Erica Clewett, Denver, Colorado; Billie’ Phillips, Jacksonville, Florida; and six great-grandchildren: Tommy, Ben, Alex, and Jack Smith of League City, Texas and Jack and Lilly Eichelberger of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Sarah was always a delight to be around and revered by all who knew and loved her. We will miss her deeply and we thank her for the love she gave us, the example she set, and the memories we will carry forever in our hearts.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 1:00pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Father Perkins officiating.

James Price

James Wilmer Price, age 84 of Clio passed away April 11, 2026, in a Dothan hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 16th at New Hope Congressional Church. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at Keahey Funeral Home. Rev. Robert B. Parnell will officiate the service.  Special music will be provided by Linda Teal Shelley. Interment will follow in the New Hope Congressional Church Cemetery.

Left to cherish his memory, loving wife, Jean Price and son, Russell James Price; brother-in-law, Lavon Kelley; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Price was a faithful member of the New Hope Congressional Church; he served for 4 years in the United States Navy. He retired from the Farley Nuclear Plant and enjoyed fishing and was a cattle farmer. He was loved by everyone that met him.

Lori Nicole (Alexander) Moore, a devoted wife, mother, MiMi, and sister passed away on Tuesday April 7, 2026, at The Hospitals of Providence in El Paso, Texas. She was 54 years old.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel in Eufaula with Rev. Herman Parker officiating. The burial will follow in the Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise with Glover Funeral Home directing. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted.

Lori was born on October 16, 1971, in Winter Haven, Florida to Stephen Douglas Alexander and Rhonda Dill Kaupas. She was employed by ASC Technical Institute. Lori enjoyed thrifting, crafts, true crime television, karaoke, playing dress up with her granddaughters, going to the beach, cooking, reading, and writing.

She is preceded in death by her father, Stephen Douglas Alexander; stepfather, Otto Kaupas; father and mother-in-law, O.C. Moore, Jr. and Ruby Moore.

Left to cherish her loving memories are her husband, David C. Moore of El Paso, Texas; four children, Bradley Moore (Sarah) of New Brockton, Alabama, Hunter Moore (Hannah) of New Brockton, Alabama, Macy Weeks (Tucker) of Enterprise, Alabama, and Logan Moore (Meagan) of Enterprise, Alabama; nine grandchildren, Mason Moore, Hudson Baldwin, Ava Moore, Trent Jensen, Bentley Moore, Clayton Moore, Merritt Weeks, Kinsley Moore, and Parker Moore; brother, Bryan Alexander; mother, Rhonda Dill Kaupas, stepmother, Karen Alexander.

Active pallbearers are Bradley Moore, Hunter Moore, Logan Moore, Tucker Weeks, Greg Moore, and Andy Moore.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.
