Anna Mae Taylor Walker, known lovingly as Anna, passed away on April 5, 2026, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 87. Born on August 22, 1938, in Henry County, Alabama, Anna lived a life marked by love, generosity, and kindness. She was a woman whose presence brought comfort and strength to those around her, and she will be remembered for the warmth she shared so freely with family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Anna devoted much of her life to caring for her home and children, creating a foundation of love, stability, and devotion that shaped the lives of those closest to her. She was a faithful provider and a steady presence, always willing to help anyone she could. Her generous spirit was evident in the way she gave of herself without hesitation, often putting the needs of others before her own. Those who knew Anna best will remember her as loving, generous, and kind, a woman whose life reflected the values she held dear.
She found joy in the simple and meaningful moments that brought everyone together, including cooking out with family and celebrating the blessings of togetherness. Holidays held a special place in her heart, and she embraced them with excitement and joy. In fact, her love for celebrating was so well known that she even had her own “Mae Day” holiday in honor of herself, a reflection of the joy and personality she brought into the lives of those around her.
Anna also enjoyed being outside in her yard and tending to her garden. She found peace and satisfaction in caring for the spaces around her, and her love of nature was another expression of her gentle and nurturing spirit. Whether she was working in the yard, preparing a meal, or spending time with loved ones, Anna approached life with grace and a giving heart.
Her faith was an important part of her journey, and she served faithfully in her church and community. She was a member of Total Restoration Ministries, where she shared her time, presence, and devotion with others. Her involvement in church and community life reflected her desire to encourage and support those around her. Anna’s life was a testimony to service, compassion, and steadfast faith.

Daughter, Betty McCray; children: LaVanda Spencer (Derrick Spencer), Keisha McCray, Alexis Dawkins (Mike Dawkins), Joseph McCray (Shameka McCray), Jasmine House (Eddie House), and Sebastian McCray; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Son, Lamar; children: Rose and Mariah. Daughter, Kathy Freeman (Gary Freeman); children: Latasha Patrick (Atiba Patrick), Jessica Coe (Gregory Coe), and Crystal Freeman; four grandchildren. Daughter, Anna Temmis Crossley (Maurice D. Crossley, Sr.); children: Bruce Allan, Brandee, Bridgette, Maurice D. Jr., Jasmine, and Maurice Dominique; sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Son, Daney Temmis (LaVerne Temmis); child: Tyrei Tucker (Victoria Tucker) two grandchildren. Daughter, DeBorah Temmis King (Derwin King); Children: Bruce Johnson Jr. (Tamara), Bront’e Johnson, Talisia King, and Viviona King; one granddaughter. Daughter, Wanda Cruz; children: Takorie Temmis (Tiffany Temmis), Chelsea Ewing (Corey Ewing), and John Cruz (Annika Cruz); three grandchildren. Daughter, Deborah Vickers (Michael Vickers); children: Michael Vickers Jr. and Destinee Woodbury (Andrew); four grandchildren. Son, Rickie Temmis; children: The Tribe of Shabazz; three grandchildren; Son, Christopher Taylor; children: Qu’Shuna Chamber, Jamaica Chambers, and Zayce Taylor; three grandchildren. Michael Taylor, Son, Lashayrian Taylor; children: Ta’Daysha Taylor, Tikeria Taylor, Michael Taylor Jr, Trinity Taylor, Ma’Khiya Taylor, and Michael Taylor III; four grandchildren. Daughter, Kanesha Sharell Taylor, Daughter, Sharonda Foster (Phillip Foster); children: Joshuah Taylor, Caleb Jones, and Shariah Taylor; one granddaughter. Daughter, Mollie Temmis Britt; children: Danna Britt, Antoine Britt, Christopher Britt, Herman Britt Jr., Helen Grice, Cory Hunter, and James Arshan III; eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her loving siblings: Fred Taylor (Lois), Frank Taylor (Lynell), Laverne Sharpe, and Roy Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Ethel Mae Butler, Charles Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, Willie Earl Fish, and Conney Fish.
A celebration of Anna’s life will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 3pm at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 409 E Stough Street, Dothan, AL, 36303. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a repass following services at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Mrs. Pamela Lynn Driskell of Dothan, Alabama passed away at Flowers Hospital on Thursday, April 2, 2026. She was 68.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Bay Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Tommy Green officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 P.M. and continuing until service time.
Pamela was born on August 10, 1957 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Ted Lanier and Mary Windham Driskell. After the loss of her only child, Pamela went to college to get her degree in teaching After graduation, she taught first grade for one year and then continued enriching young children’s lives by teaching kindergarten for the next thirty-four years. She impacted the lives of many children in very positive ways. These children were an instrument that God used to see her through the loss of her own child. After her retirement, Pamela enjoyed traveling and spending time in the mountains. She also started and enjoyed a new career as a homemaker and taking care of her husband and their little farm. She was committed to serving the Lord in numerous ways in church and had an unwavering love for her church family. Her greatest love was for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In addition to her parents; her daughter, Christy; sister, Tamara Lanier; grandparents; and mother-in-law Bobbi Driskell, all preceded her in death.
Pamela leaves behind a legacy and memories that will be cherished by her survivors including, her husband, Donnie Driskell; brothers: Ted Lanier and Terry Lanier and other extended family and friends.
Mrs. Beth Johnson Meeks of Opp peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the age of 85, at her home surrounded by the warmth and love of her devoted family.
A cherished daughter of the late Levi Buck and Robbie Register Johnson, Mrs. Meeks was born on April 8, 1940, in Florida and was a proud graduate of Columbus High School. Throughout her life, Beth was a woman of steadfast faith and grace, a devoted member of Ino Baptist Church where she lovingly dedicated her time to Children’s Ministries, Vacation Bible School, and the seniors at church. Fondly known as “Maw-Maw,” she was the unwavering pillar of her family—a beloved wife, adoring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her southern charm was matched only by her renowned culinary delights, especially her dressing, brownies, and pecan pies, which remain unforgettable to all fortunate enough to have savored them.
Mrs. Meeks leaves behind her beloved husband, Charles Meeks; her daughter, Robin Sensabaugh (Daryn); son, Rodney Meeks; grandchildren Graceanne Spears, Tiffany Thornburg, Jonathan Chancellor and his wife Laura, Katy Mojica and her husband Daniel, Kayla Gannon and her husband Broxton, and Paige Sensabaugh; as well as great-grandchildren Natalie Wiggins, Alyssa Wiggins, Mason Chancellor, Josie Kate Chancellor, and Dakota Chancellor. She is also survived by her sisters Ann Arnold and Linda Boswell and her husband Wayne, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and an extended circle of loved ones and friends.
A celebration of Mrs. Meeks’s remarkable life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Ino Baptist Church, with Rev. Gary Winstead and Rev. Danny Branch officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m. until service time. Robert Earl Beasley, a lifelong resident of Newton, Alabama, passed away on April 6, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on July 11, 1945, he lived a life marked by faith and devotion to the people, land, and animals he loved.
Robert graduated from Wicksburg High School in 1963, but his greatest education came from a lifetime spent tending to the land. A lifelong farmer, he raised peanuts, cotton, corn, and cattle with long days consisting of early mornings, late evenings, and a steadfast dedication through any season. Farming was not just his livelihood, but his calling, where he remained committed to the way of life that shaped him till the end, and he carried out that work with honesty, discipline, and pride.
Robert was the devoted husband to Ruby Mathis Beasley for 62 years. Together they built a strong family where Robert took great pride in being a husband, father, grandfather, and steady presence in the lives of those closest to him. He is survived by his children, Ashley Beasley (Lori), Bobby Beasley (Jade), and Chad Beasley (Erin). He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren who brought him great joy; Brody, Hunter, Parker, Tatum, and Jon Waylon.He is also survived by his sister, Betty Beasley Passarelli.
Robert lived each day to provide, protect, and lead by example with a strong belief in work, in keeping his word, and in putting family first. As an entrepreneur and a man who valued responsibility, Robert loved his animals and took great satisfaction in the life he built on the farm. He was hardworking, honest, and wise to many; qualities that were evident in the way he cared for others and in the way he carried himself. His stories and guidance leave behind a legacy of integrity, faith, and commitment and these memories will continue to bring strength to those who loved him.
Robert was a member of Mt. Hebron Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Earl Beasley and Erma D. Matthews Beasley, by his twin sister, Robbie Lea Beasley, and his sister, Mary Beasley Gilley.
Serving as pallbearers are his sons, Ashley Beasley, Bobby Beasley, and Chad Beasley, along with a special nephew, Phillip Gilley, brother-in-law Steven Mathis, and faithful assistant Donald Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Edwards and Lowell Williams.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11am in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Bimbo Turner and Brother Archie Howell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 5-7pm. Robert will be laid to rest in the Mt. Hebron Methodist Church Cemetery in Newton, Alabama.

Mason A. Streetman of Enterprise, AL, passed away Monday, April 6, 2026, at his home. He was 95.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 10, 2026, at College Avenue Church of Christ with Minister Caleb Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time. Mason proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War, demonstrating the dedication and strength that would define the rest of his life. Following his military service, Mason built a long and faithful career, retiring from Stone Container, formerly International Paper. Known as a true handyman, there was little he could not fix or build. He stayed busy throughout his life, always willing to lend a helping hand to his family, friends, and church community.
Mason played a significant role in the construction of the Church of Christ building in Abbeville, Alabama, and assisted his father-in-law in building the Church of Christ in Hatchechubbee. His commitment to service extended to Camp Wiregrass, where he worked tirelessly in any capacity needed until declining health prevented him from continuing.
A faithful Christian, Mason served in many roles within the church, including minister, song leader, and deacon. He gave himself fully to the Lord’s work, never seeking recognition, only striving to serve. He was rarely idle, always finding purpose in helping others and strengthening his community.
Above all, Mason loved his family deeply. He was a wonderful husband and a devoted father whose life reflected Christ in both word and action. The example he set will remain an enduring inspiration to all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife June Streetman, his parents Hobson and Roleen Streetman, brother Gene, sister Sara Inez, granddaughter Amanda Bradford and great granddaughter Cammie Lee Dianne Alexander.
Survivors include his three children, Richard Streetman (Deborah), Rebecca Ellis (Tim), Vicki Alexander (Sam); brother, Sam Streetman (Marion); five grandchildren, Josh, Heather, Valerie, Emily and William; fifteen great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Greg, Ethan, Garrison, Conner, Desland, Jordyn, Josh Jr., Aliyah, Jesse, Khloe, Chloe, Aiden, Harlow, and Kaiya; several nieces and nephews; a very special family friend, Jackie Austin.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Joshua Alexander, William Streetman, Allesandro Escobar, Brandon Sims, Greg Foster, Ethan Foster, Conner Foster, and Alan Dixon.
Mary Celeste Oder, age 89, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, in Anderson, South Carolina. She was born on July 31, 1936, in Alexander City, Alabama, to the late Carl and Irene Oliver.
Mary was a kind, caring, and gentle soul whose warmth touched all who knew her. She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially traveling and tending to her beloved potted plants.
Whether she was exploring new places or nurturing her flowers, Mary carried a quiet happiness that reflected her loving spirit.
She is survived by her step-son, Charles Oder and his wife, Jane; her daughter in law, Shirley Oder; as well as numerous grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Oder, whom she met later in life; her parents, Roy and Irene Oliver; her step children, Oliver Gilbert, Debra Gilbert, Ken Oder, Terry Oder, and Barbara Douglas; as well as her brother.
