ABBEVILLE… Mary Louise Stevenson Sanders, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama, passed away Monday morning, December 23, 2024, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. She was 51.

HEADLAND… Willie Frank Dennis, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Friday afternoon, December 20, 2024, at his daughter’s home. He was 67.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel. Burial will follow in the Hopewell A.M. E. Church Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Willie Frank Dennis was born on August 8, 1957, to the union of Johnny Frank and Almedia Dennis. He grew up in Clopton, Alabama, where he attended G.W. Long School, later graduating from Abbeville High School in Abbeville, Alabama. It was there he met the love of his life, Bobbie Jean Dennis. Their union of 36 years was a testament to love and partnership until her passing.
Willie dedicated much of his life to hard work and service. He was employed for many years at West Point Stevens in Abbeville, AL. Outside of work, he enjoyed grilling, fishing, gardening, and repairing small motors for family and friends. His hands were rarely idle, and his heart was always open to helping others.
A man of deep faith, Willie was a steadfast member of Hopewell A.M.E. Church and a faithful member of the Clopton Circuit. Over the years, he served as a steward, usher, prayer warrior, and groundskeeper, touching countless lives through his commitment to God and his community.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Frank and Almedia Dennis; his beloved wife, Bobbie Jean Dennis; and his sister, Mary Jean Dennis.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his children, Timothy Dennis of Abbeville, AL, and Tiffany (Dwon) Roy of Headland, AL; his siblings, Ronnie (Jackie) Dennis of Abbeville, AL, Jewel Dennis of Suwanee, GA, and Jeffrey (Lori Ann) Dennis of Edwin, AL; his treasured granddaughters, Jaiden, Riahlee, Makena, and Harmony; his great-aunts, Louise Dennis and Mary Dozier of Abbeville, AL; his great-uncle, Jamar Scott of Newark, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Willie’s life was a reflection of faith, love, and service. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know him.

Martha “Sue” (Conrad) Traylor, 81, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Harpers Joy Assembly of God Church with Reverend Eddie Littlefield officiating. Burial followed at Madrid Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home of Dothan directing. The family received friends at the church from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m., prior to the service.
Martha “Sue” Traylor, also known as “Granny” by those who loved her dearly, was born on June 30, 1943. Sue loved her Savior Jesus Christ more than anything in this world, and her faith in Christ defined who she was as a person and how she lived her life. Second to her love for Jesus, was her family. Melissa Cureton and Teresa Medley were immensely blessed to have Sue as their mother. As a loving grandmother, Sue enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her love, John Patrick Traylor. Sue is survived by her daughters, Melissa Cureton (Roger), and Teresa Medley (Richard); three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Brandon Cureton (Ana, John Robert, & Bowie), Kala Martin (Josh, Eli, & Ellis), and Colton Cureton (Catherine & Charlotte).
Serving as pallbearers will be Colton Cureton, Brandon Cureton, Josh Martin, Ricky Jenkins, John Clark, and Nick Ledford.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her Sunday School Class from Harpers Joy Assembly of God.

We announce with profound sorrow the passing of Mahlani Deon Reynolds, a beacon of love and gentleness, who left us on December 19, 2024, at the tender age of eight months. Mahlani, a cherished soul born on April 17, 2024, in Dothan, Alabama, was a joy and a blessing from the moment she arrived into this world.
Mahlani’s life, though brief, was filled with an abundance of love and exploration. Her infectious smile and the sparkle in her eyes brought immeasurable joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her adventurous spirit shone brightly, as she was endlessly fascinated by the world around her, particularly enamored with anything that lit up. She conveyed her love and happiness without the need for words, touching the hearts of everyone she met.
She was the adored daughter of Melanie Reynolds, who was the center of Mahlani’s universe. The bond between Mahlani and her mother was evident in their every interaction, filled with tenderness and an unspoken understanding. Mahlani’s grandmother, Brivzetta McKnight (Herman Britt), and great-grandparents, Freddie C. and Lynnetta Russaw and Grady Reynolds, II also played a significant role in her life, enveloping her in their love and wisdom.
Mahlani’s family tree was rich with branches of support, including her aunts and uncles, Nukeshia (Marvens) Chalumeau, Fratelya (Kiara) Russaw, Makayla Reynolds and Stephan (Breeze), Prentice Jackson, Jr., Latria, Laronda, Crystal, Regina, Shannon, Grady Reynolds, III, Nicole Jones, and Chelsea Hines. Each of them contributed to the tapestry of her life, providing her with a sense of belonging and an extended family of care.
Her special friends, Mannoah Dawsey and Mikayla Myers, shared in the simple joys of her everyday discoveries, while her special cousin, Idajah Walker, and Zwai Reynolds, stood by her as companions in her journey of growth and curiosity.
Mahlani was preceded in death by her grandfather, Burnard Reynolds and great-great grandmother, Cheyenne Reynolds.
Mahlani’s presence was a gift, and she will be remembered as a loving and gentle soul. Her adventurous nature made every day a new opportunity to learn and experience the world in her unique way. She was a light in the lives of those who knew her, and her memory will continue to shine brightly.

OZARK…Rhettington Rory James Cook, infant son of Cassidy Cook, of Ozark, was carried by angels into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. He was 2 months and 12 days old.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 24, 2024, in the Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or Cardiac Unit at Children’s Hospital of Birmingham.
Rhettington was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Alan “Gene” Michaels.
