ALABAMA: On May 19 the registered voters of the Great State of Alabama will elect a new Attorney General. In Alabama the top elected public servants, Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, State AG Commissioner and a couple more offices can only serve two terms.
Alabama’s current Attorney General, Steve Marshall, has served 10 years as Attorney General. A termis four years. However when former Alabama Governor Robert Bentley appointed then Attorney General Luther Strange to take former United States Senator Jeff Sessions post, Governor Bentley appointed Steve Marshall to Attorney General. Former Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange had two years left in his term so Steve Marshall served those two years. Then he was elected twice to his own terms of four years. Combined was 10 years as Attorney General. Marshall can not run for AG without a four year abscence. Same applied to Alabama Governor Kay Ivey.
The area law enforcement recomends Katherine Robertson. She is the current Deputy Attorney General and has served with Steve Marshall for the past 10 years. The Alabama Prosecutors recomends Pam Casey. A seasoned prosecutor from Blount County.
Katherine Robertson has the training and knowledge to serve the Great State of Alabama at the next Attorney General.
Pam Casey has the courtroom experience, experience as a District Attorney, and knowledge of Alabama law to serve as Alabama Attorney General.
