06:48 AM. Vehicle In Water

DOTHAN:    06:48 AM.     Dotham 911 dispatched units to Highway 84 West at the Boy Scouts Club to a vehicle in water.

A vehicle was found in about four feet of water.

The vehicle in unoccupied. Reports are the driver went home with his girlfriend.

Ferguson Wrecker has been dispatched to the scene to remove the vehicle from the water.

DOTHAN:    2:28 PM    A poilice chase coming into Dothan from Headland.

2:28 PM  Passing Landmark Park

2:28 PM   Right on Westgate Parkway

2:29 PM   On Westgate passing Technology Drive

ALEA-Troopers, Dothan Police, Headland Police, Houston County Sheriff Deputies in chase.

2:30 PM   Headland Police Chief Mark Jones has turned chase over to Houston County, Dothan Police, ALEA – Troopers. Headland had vehicle stopped and when backup coming to search vehicle the vehicle fled.

2:31 PM    Vehicle lost at Denton Road and Westgate Parkway.

2:32 PM    Multiple law enforcement officers are in area attempting to locate the vehicle. A black Hyundia Tuscon.

The vehicle is a rental car with a Florida license plate. Houston County Sheriff Captain James Ivey was at Denton Road and Ross Clark headed north and the vehicle never went south on Denton Road.

The vehicle is reported to be headed back towards Highway 431.

2:40 PM    Unable to locate vehicle.

Henry County Sheriff Deputies had the vehicle stopped on Highway 431 at Ravenwood. When the Deputy told the driver he had a backup unit coming to do a vehicle search the driver took off. The driver was tranveling south on Highway 431 at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle came into Headland where Headland Police, to include Headland Police Chief Mark Jones intercepted.

The chase continued south on Highway 431 to Westgate Parkway where the driver hung a right. The vehicle was driving recklessly. Some of the law enforcement backed off some as they approached Headland Avenue and Westgate Parkway because of the school traffic. The vehicle was able to gain a little more advantage but law enforcement was thinking safety over apprehension.

The law enforcement officers lost the suspect at Westgate Parkway and Denton Road.

As of this writing the suspect has not been apprehended. However the DUMB DRIVER had already given the Henry County Sheriff Deputy his driver license!!!

10:44 AM Suspect Fled When Police Arrived

DOTHAN:    10:15 AM    Dothan Police have been in area of Headland Avenue – Lamb Court Apartments – Spring Street in a brief manhunt.

Dothan Police went to serve a felony arrest warrant. The suspect fled when he spotted police. Dothan Police searched the area attempting to locate.

Dothan Police Patrol Division quickly surronded the area. The suspect probably held up in a house somewhere.

12:02 PM Structure Fire Dispatched – Grove Park

DOTHAN:     11:59 AM    Dothan 911 dispatched a structure fire on Orchid Circle in Grove Park, Dothan.

Reports to Dothan 911 smoke in kitchen and living room.

Dothan Fire Engine 8 ( Highlands ), Dothan Fire Engine 6 ( Napier Field Road ), Dothan Fire Engine 2 ( Lakewood ), Rehab 2 ( Lakewood ), Pilcher Ambulance and Dothan Police responding.

12:05 PM   Dothan Fire Engine 8 ( Highlands ) and Battalion 2 have arrived on the scene. Nothing visible, investigating.

12:06 PM    Dothan Fire Engine Company 8 reports food on stove, all respondingunits can cancel and return to service.
