09:36 AM About Dale County Sheriff

09:36 AM About Dale County Sheriff

DALE COUNTY:     This morning, like about 4:20 AM, just letting the people know your Dale County Sheriff, Mason Bynum, was out on the streets working. At 4:20 AM I heard him calling out on a suspicious persons call.

I do know that Sheriff Mason Bynum was on the scene of the chase last night that began in Ozark and ended at Dale County Road 18.

Why do I mention this?  I believe the people of Dale County need to know YOUR SHERIFF is out on the streets, working and serving. Not jusy 8 to 5, Monday through Friday, but at all times of the day and night.

And if RSN does not let you know, how do you know.

Not called him this morning to see what all was going on because he “might” be home taking a nap. But knowing Mason Bynum, he is not!

SPECIAL NOTE:    All area Sheriff’s and Chief of Police in this area do get out and work. RSN does not always hear them and they do not call and tell me. But when I hear them I try and let the citizens know.

2:23 PM STUPID DRIVER Now Could Get A Felony or Felonies

2:23 PM STUPID DRIVER Now Could Get A Felony or Felonies

DOTHAN:      2:19 PM   Dothan Police Patrol activated his blue lights and the person in front of the blue lights made a conscious decision not to obey them and took off.

In Alabama the charge Attempt To Elude can be a felony offense.

2:19 PM      The vehicle turned off West Mead onto Edgewood and was traveling about 60 miles per hour.  TRAFFIC OFFENSE – SPEED

2:19 PM      The vehicle turned right on Selma Street and was passing Alpine Street.

2:20 PM      The vehicle failed to stop at traffic signal at Park and Selma Street, blowing the red light. TRAFFIC OFFENSE – RUNNING A RED LIGHT

2:20 PM      The vehicle turned left onto Woodland at Selma Street School.

2:20 PM      The vehicle turned left onto Deborah Street.

2:21 PM      The vehicle turned left on Park Avenue, traveling north.  TRAFFIC OFFENSE – FAILURE TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN.

2:21 PM     The vehicle continues north on Park Avenue, passing Selma Street at speeds of 45 miles per hour. TRAFFIC OFFENSE – SPEED

2:21 PM     The vehicle stops on North Park. Dothan Police Patrol is attempting to take into custody.

2:22 PM     The driver of the vehicle is in custody of Dothan Police.

So now, this STUPID DRIVER has probably got himself or herself a felony for Eluding Police Officer, a speeding ticket for 60 miles per hour, running a red light at Park and Selma, running a stop sign at Deborah and Park, and speeding on North Park. The driver could possibly be charged with reckless endangerment for the traffic light and stop signs because he/she created a substantial risk of serious physical injury or death in running the red light and stop signs. Possibly have running a stop sign at Edgewood and Fortner, and Edgewood and Park. And this person has a wrecker bill because the vehicle was towed.

Perhaps if he/she stopped they would have been given a warning or one ticket. Being stupid, oh well.

CHASE ENDED, no one injured and driver in custody.
