Kelley Marie Crooms, a resident of Kinsey, Alabama died Friday, June 5, 2026 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. She was 40.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 12, 2026 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Hardy officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Kelley was born November 29, 1985 in Dothan, Alabama to Dennis and Elizabeth Breece Crooms. She was a graduate of Rehobeth High School and attended Chipola and Troy University. Kelley worked for Great Southern Wood as a Financial Auditor. She enjoyed playing Volleyball and Softball but will be remembered as an excellent mother who loved being active in her children’s lives. Kelley was a member of Kinsey Baptist Church.
Kelley is survived by her parents; children, Ashlyn Betsill and Lane Betsill; siblings, Cindy Crooms, Tim Crooms (Dawn); nieces, MaKayla Crooms and Ashley Creel; cousin, Max Crooms and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Wanda Jean Grantham Wynn, a resident of Daleville, died Monday afternoon, June 8, 2026 in Dothan at the home of her daughter. She was 89 years old.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
Mrs. Wynn was born March 3, 1937 in Stratford, Oklahoma to the late Henry Lee Grantham and Myrtle Ruth Glasgow Grantham. She attended Stratford High School where she excelled in basketball. She met Alfred Wynn at a high school prom and he stole her from her date. They were married shortly after that. Later Mr. Wynn would join the United States Army and they lived in many duty station locations until his retirement at Fort Rucker. Mrs. Wynn loved God, family, friends and making new friends. She was a Mother that always put her children before herself. Mrs. Wynn delivered newspapers for the Dothan Eagle and worked with Hughes Fashion Center in Daleville. Jean-Jean loved to grow a garden and can the fresh vegetables. She was born and raised on a farm and was not afraid to kill and dress a chicken. Wanda enjoyed her television shows; Naked and Afraid, Yellowstone, the Pickers and FOX TV. She also enjoyed adult coloring books, puzzles, her flowers, working in her yard and feeding her birds and hummingbirds. Mrs. Wynn enjoyed quilting by machine and giving her quilts to her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include six children, Reva Carlisle (Steve) of Dothan, Rebecca Talcott (Mark) of Lake Elsinore, California, Regena Dheel (Billy) of Woodlawn, Tennessee, Linda Roller (Rick) of Newton, Tina Dewitt (Paul) of Mobile, and Alfred E. Wynn, Jr. (Kim) of Dothan. 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Disabled American Veterans of Ozark, P. O. Box 57, Ozark, Alabama 36361.
Charlotte Lee Bentley, a resident of Eufaula, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at her residence. She was 67 years old.
Interment will take place on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Georgetown Cemetery.
Charlotte was born on September 16, 1958, in Albany, Georgia, to the late General Lee and Edith (Hawkins) Bentley. She enjoyed crocheting, flowers, gardening, and reading biographies.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Gene Bentley.
Survivors include her daughter, Tina Lee; son, James Day (Danielle); brother, Lamar Bentley; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren

Mrs. Deborah “Debbie” Ann Bass, aged 59, of Malvern, peacefully passed from this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Southeast Health.
A cherished daughter, devoted wife, and loving mother, Debbie’s journey was marked by faith, grace, and an unwavering commitment to family and community. Born on October 10, 1966, in Houston County to Thurman and Barbara Reeder Carroll, she was a proud graduate of Rehobeth High School’s class of 1984. Throughout her life, Debbie exemplified the virtues of a true Southern lady, renowned for her warmth, kindness, and exceptional gift of cooking.
Her life was beautifully intertwined with that of her beloved husband, Tim Bass, whom she met along life’s path and with whom she was to celebrate 40 years of marriage this coming September. Debbie’s faith found powerful expression through her dedicated service as church secretary at Malvern Baptist Church for three decades and as a beloved Sunday school teacher. In addition to her deep love for singing and reading, she took great joy in preparing for her Sunday school lessons, nurturing the spiritual growth of those around her.
Debbie’s heart belonged foremost to her family. She was the beloved wife of Tim Bass of Malvern; the adoring mother of Carroll Ann Losh and her husband Calvin of Dothan, and son, Alexander Bass of Malvern. Her grandchildren—Henry Losh, Walter Losh, Jensen Bass, and Blakleigh Bass, —brought her immense joy and pride. She was supported and surrounded by her parents, Thurman and Barbara Carroll; her brothers Lawrence Carroll, Jerry Carroll and his wife Nicole, and Charles Carroll and his wife Niki; as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Coley and Inez Reeder, and Homer and Eva Carroll, as well as her father-in-law, James Bass.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Malvern Baptist Church, with Rev. Hosea Parker and Rev. Patrick Trawick officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Emily Lee (Ferguson) Alsop, 89, a resident of Dothan, formerly of Jasper, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Bonifay Nursing Home & Rehab Center, following an extended illness.
Graveside services will be held 10:15 a.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo with Reverend Paul Whitfield officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Dothan directing.
Emily was known for her generous hospitality, and at times opening their home to students, missionaries and friends. She will also be remembered by her gentle and compassionate heart. She was faithful, loving and kind to all.
She was preceded in death by her husband B. Kim Alsop and her grandson Kevin Alsop.
Survivors include her son Kim (Gloria) Alsop, daughter Sally (H. Craig) Gray, and son Scot (Dianne) Alsop. She has six living grandchildren, Jimmy Gray, Alisha Alsop (Bryan) See, Cole (Jennifer) Gray, Craig W. (Evie) Gray, Emily Gray (Paul) Whitfield and David Alsop. She has 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

HALEBURG… Donald Dyson, a resident of Haleburg, Alabama, passed away Tuesday morning, June 9, 2026, at his home. He was 80.
A memorial service will be held 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend James Welch officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Donald Dyson was born in Blakely, Georgia to the late Henry Dyson and Florrie McGriff Dyson. He attended local schools and spent his life as a hardworking provider. Although he worked as a general manager in the manufacturing industry, those who knew him best would say his most important job was being a devoted husband, father, and provide doing whatever was necessary to support and care for his family. His strong work ethic, determination, and selflessness were evident in all that he did. Mr. Dyson previously resided in Columbia, Alabama before making his home in Haleburg, Alabama approximately forty-two years ago. He married the love of his life, Cathy Carpenter Dyson, affectionately known as his Honey, and together they shared 55 years of love, devotion, and cherished memories. Since her passing on October 31, 2024, he carried a deep longing for the companionship and love they had shared throughout their lives together. Mr. Dyson was a faithful member of Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his kind heart, his strong faith, and the example he set through a life of hard work, love, and service to others.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Cathy Carpenter Dyson.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his daughters, Amy Odom (Greg), Florrie McDonald, and Angela McLain; son Paul Dyson (Pam); grandchildren, Ivy Forrester, Silas Forrester (Jessica), James Paul Dyson, Kayla Dyson, Savannah Cooper (Jonathan), Shelbi McDonald, Thomas McDonald, Harleigh Bickley, Dalton Girard (Ramsey), Charlie Pate Abshire, and LeAnna Hataway (Chris); nine great-grandchildren; and several other nieces and nephews.
