Linda Faye Bruner Danford, of Dothan, AL. passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday July 26, 2025. She lived a full and vibrant life of 83 years.
Linda was a loving Mother to her four children, Greg Danford, Kathy Harrell (James), Lisa Danford Lake, and Mike Danford, a cherished Grandmother to Kelli Williamson, Justin Cofield, Jodi Roldan , Jamison Danford, Phillip Danford, Jamie Faye Harrell, and Derek Danford. Her great-grandchildren, Storm Cofield, Judah Danford, Lilly Danford, Jesse Williamson, Gage Newton, Axle Roldan, and Luke Danford brought her great joy.
Linda was a gifted Interior Designer, receiving numerous accolades including the prestigious Top Designer award for the state of Georgia. She was adventurous, fun-loving, and compassionate with an unwavering faith, and she savored life. Linda will be remembered for her tremendous love and kindness. She will live in our hearts forever.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Nellie and Charlie Bruner; sisters Nell Manning and Lucy Baxley; brothers John and William Bruner and one surviving sister Ethel Rabon. Visitation will be Monday, July 28, 5:30-6:30 pm at Sunset Funeral Home in Dothan, AL. followed by a private graveside ceremony Tuesday. The family will be accepting flowers in honor of Linda’s life.

Freddie Paul Money Sr., 70, a life-long resident of Columbia, passed away on, Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, July 28, 2025, at Glover Funeral Home with Reverend Bridgman Harris officiating. A private family burial will follow at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1:15 p.m., prior to the service.

Freddie was born October 5, 1954, in Donalsonville, Georgia to the late James Edward & Lucy (Walker) Money. He spent the early years of his life in Columbia and was a 1973 graduate of Houston County High School. After school, he worked as a supervisor for Gates Power Drive for 20 years. Together with his wife, Marilyn, they owned and operated, Marilyn’s Deli in Columbia for 16 years. Most recently, Freddie worked as a school bus driver for the Henry County School System for the last 8 years. Freddie enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and singing karaoke. He was a long-time member and served as a deacon of Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandchildren, Colby James Money, and Ashley Jordan Baber; his brothers, Jerry Milton Money, Homer Horrace Money, and Kenneth Wayne Money.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marilyn A. Hardy Money of Columbia; his three children, James Edward Money (Loralee) of Columbia, Marilyn Michelle Dobbs (Christopher) of Dale County, and Freddie Paul Money Jr. (Kasey) of Ashford; his eight grandchildren, Brooklyn Saunders (Julius), James Edward Money Jr., Rachel Rochelle Cobb (Chris), Garett Kyle Lisenby, Brent Ashton Lisenby, Gracie Elizabeth Westbrook (Kaleb), Savannah Ann Money, and Katelynn Grace Money; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Jeanette Chapman Newton, a beacon of love and strength, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2020, in Lexington, SC, at the age of 86. Born on April 7, 1934, in Dothan, AL, Jeanette’s early years were spent in Midland City, AL, where she grew up learning the values of family and community that would guide her throughout her life.
Jeanette’s journey led her to Bainbridge, GA, where she met and married the love of her life, the late Billy Charles Newton. The couple shared a deep and enduring love, one that was the cornerstone of their family. While Billy served in the US Navy, Jeanette dedicated herself to caring for their home and family, creating a warm and nurturing environment for their son Billy Newton and late daughter Cynthia Hubbert. Jeanette’s resilience and independence were further exemplified during her husband’s deployments, as she remained the steadfast anchor of their home.
Her sister, Evelyn Green, fondly remembers Jeanette’s unwavering support and the special bond they shared as siblings. Jeanette’s love extended beyond her immediate family, touching all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Professionally, Jeanette was a highly skilled transcriptionist at Ft Rucker, where she worked until her retirement. Her colleagues admired her for her dedication and the meticulous care she put into her work. Jeanette’s professional achievements, however, were always secondary to her commitment to her family, whom she placed at the center of her world.
Jeanette’s interests and hobbies reflected her adventurous spirit and her willingness to embrace new challenges. She was a creative soul, engaging in pottery and painting homes and landscapes that captured her imagination. Her artistic endeavors were more than just pastimes; they were expressions of her zest for life and her desire to capture the beauty she saw in the world.
Those who knew Jeanette would describe her as loving and strong-willed. She was always there for her family, offering a helping hand or a listening ear without judgment. Her strength of character was evident in the way she approached life’s challenges with grace and determination.
Jeanette Chapman Newton’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. She will be deeply missed by all who were touched by her kindness and her unwavering spirit. As we say goodbye to Jeanette, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of moments that will be cherished and remembered by her family, friends, and all who were privileged to cross her path. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, just as her presence once did. Jeanette’s life story is a testament to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit.
A graveside to celebrated Jeanette’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Scott Cox officiating.
HEADLAND… Harvey Reeves, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025, at his home. He was 89.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 2, 2025, at St. Peter A.M.E. Church, with Reverend Joshua Mann officiating and Reverend Bobby Joe Jackson giving a eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday evening at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Reeves was born in Henry County, Alabama to the late Christopher Columbus Reeves and Mollie Williams Reeves. He lived his entire life in the Headland, Alabama area. He was engaged in farming his whole life. He worked with the Falkner Family Farm in Headland, Alabama. He and the late Larry Falkner could be seen most of the time driving around checking on the crops and livestock. He was a member of the Peanut Growers Association. He was a devoted member of the St. Peter A.M.E. Church in Headland, Alabama.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-nine years, Rosie Mae Reeves; his daughter, Shirley Reeves; his son-in-law, Jack Austin; his eighteen brothers and sisters; his sisters-in-law, Everlyn Kinard, Veverlyn Thornton, and Freddie Mae Reeves; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Earl Thornton and Jimmy Thornton.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his children, Rose Reeves, Cynthia Austin, Sandra Edwards (Sidney), Paul Harvey Reeves, Shelia Weeks (Harold), and Jennifer Faniel; his sisters-in-law, Ola Bell Hammock, Sarah Ann Copelin, Martha Jewel Fleming, Louise Williams, Mary Ann Thornton, and Mary Reeves; his brother-in-law, Allen Kinard; his fourteen grandchildren; his twenty-six great-grandchildren; and a host of his nieces, nephews, family, and friends, including a very special friend James Larry Falkner.
Patsy Hagler Watkins of Dothan passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025. Born on February 7, 1947, Patsy’s life was a testament to the strength and warmth of her spirit. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Van Cooley officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. Sunday, one hour prior to the service.
Patsy’s journey began as the beloved daughter of James and Cleter Murl Ryals Hagler. Patsy’s nurturing nature was evident in everything she did, from the way she cared for her family to the delicious meals she lovingly prepared.
Throughout her life, Patsy was a hardworking woman whose dedication to her family was unwavering. She was a loving mother to her sons, Billy Tice and his wife Joy, Bobby Tice and his wife Cindy, and John Tice, whom she raised with all the love of a mother. Her family was her pride and joy, and she instilled in them the values of kindness and compassion that she embodied.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Willie Tice, Taft Bruner, and Rex Watkins, and her son David Tice. Her legacy of love continues through her surviving family members, including her sons, her brother Tony Hagler and his wife Brenda, her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews. Her special friend, Donnell, also holds dear the memories of the times they shared.
The memories of Patsy will continue to carry on through the lives of her family and friends.
Eddie Randy Clark, age 75, a resident of Dothan passed away on Tuesday, July 22,2025 at Southeast Health.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, July 28, 2025 at Clark Cemetery with Billy Snell officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing.

Randy was born on April 10, 1950 in Houston County to Eddie and Gladys Barton Clark. He was a lifelong resident of Houston County and a graduate of Rehobeth High School Class of 1968. He attended Wallace College and later transferred to Troy University where he obtained a Business Degree. All through college, he played baseball passionately. He enjoyed sharing of when he played baseball with his children. Randy made a career as a General Manager at Circle City Transport. He was a dedicated employee for thirty-nine and a half years. Randy’s dedication wasn’t just for work, but for everything he did. In playing baseball, loving his family and his church, Tabernacle United Methodist, where he was a member for over twenty years. His upmost passion in life was loving and caring for his wife. Even the simple day to day phone calls while he was away at work, brought a smile to his face and joy to his soul.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy Joe Clark; and sisters, Janice Nell Baker, Margaret Juanita Turvin.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-eight years, Judy Clark; children, Marcus Eddie Clark (Cary), Newville, Lisa Worthy (David), Dothan, and Scott Smith (Tracey), Dothan; five grandchildren, Zoey Rae Clark, Callie Mackenzie Worthy, Kaylin Brynn Worthy, Anna Grace Smith, and Lydia Katherine Smith.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Noland, Keith Baker, Vann Johnson, John Tyson, Alan Baker, and Peyton Dafne.
