PANAMA CITY, FLORIDA. . .Allen Andrew Danford, Jr., a resident of Panama City, Florida, passed away Sunday morning, October 19, 2025, at his home. He was 97.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in the Blackwood Cemetery, 429 County Road 44, Headland, Alabama, with Reverend George Bryan officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Danford was born in Midland City, Alabama and was raised in the Blackwood Community, near Headland, Alabama, son of the late Allen Andrew Danford, Sr. and Myrle Dick Danford. He served his county in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Danford lived most of his adult lifetime in Columbus, Georgia before moving to Panama City in 2015. He was a Master Mason in the Rose Hill Masonic Lodge No. 484 in Columbus. Mr. Danford retired from the U. S. Government at Ft. Benning as a Bus Driver. After retirement, he was employed by the Muscogee County School System as a School Bus Driver. Mr. Danford was preceded in death by his wife, Irma Calloway Danford, a son, Rex Allen Danford, sisters, Fauviette Thompson, Hazel Reagan, Betty Jo Golden and Rene Herring and brothers, C. L. Danford and Randall Danford.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Sandra Danford Webb (Vic), Panama City Beach, Florida; two sisters, Faye Bruner and Ouida Schulman, both of Dothan; grandchildren, Angie McConnell, Tosh Webb (Shelly), Stephanie Nelson (Scott), Chase Webb (Robin), Cassie Parker (Justin), and Jeremiah Danford; six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Maxine Tew Jackson, 73, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Jackson at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time (2:00 p.m. Central time) on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Dothan, Alabama, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Grace Kirkland (Mrs. Jackson’s aunt) will officiate.
Mrs. Jackson’s family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Born August 23, 1952, in Midland City, Alabama, Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of Gladys Corbin of Dothan, Alabama and the late J. L. Tew. She was a textile machine operator at Kenebo in Tifton; and she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Jackson loved going to the beach; and she loved working with her flowers.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her husband, Porter Jackson of Tifton; one son, Andrew Jackson of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Helen Tew of Thomasville; one sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Charles Collins of Dothan, Alabama; and four grandchildren, Madison Salmen, Donovan Smith, Nathan Jackson and Bailey Jackson.

OZARK…Mrs. Mary Ruth Fralix Bruner, a resident of Ozark, died early Friday morning, October 17, 2025, at her home. She was 84.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with her son, Pastor Barry Clark and Chaplain Retired, Roderick Swanson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bruner, born to Harvey Fralix and Gladys Doggett Fralix, grew up in the small town of Pulaski, Tennessee, where her roots ran deep and her love for family and faith began to blossom. She carried the values of her upbringing with her throughout her life, no matter where she lived. Over the years, she made homes in Goose Creek, South Carolina, and Hamilton, Alabama, before settling in Ozark in the mid-1980s—a place that would become her beloved community.
In Ozark, Mrs. Bruner poured her heart into her work and her ministry. She was the proud owner of Bethany’s Florist & Gifts and the Living Word Christian Book Store, two businesses that reflected her creativity, her love for people, and her devotion to sharing God’s word. Whether she was arranging flowers for a wedding or helping someone find the perfect devotional, she did it with kindness, grace, and a warm smile.
As a pastor’s wife for forty-three years, Mrs. Bruner was a steady and loving presence in the lives of many. She wasn’t just a supportive partner to her husband—she was a teacher, a mentor, and a friend to countless people in her church and beyond. She had a gift for music and found joy in playing the piano and singing hymns that lifted the spirits of those around her. Teaching came naturally to her, whether she was guiding little ones in Sunday school or leading Bible studies for adults. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lived it out with humility and compassion.
Mrs. Bruner was a devoted member of House of Prayer Church of God in Ozark, where she worshipped faithfully and built lasting relationships with her church family. Her presence in the congregation was a source of comfort and inspiration, and her legacy continues to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Bethany Clark, whose memory she carried tenderly in her heart. Though her passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, Mrs. Bruner’s life was a beautiful testament to love, service, and unwavering faith. In addition to her daughter, she was preceded in death by her siblings, JC Fralix, Billy Dean Fralix, Barbara Fralix, Jessie Wright Fralix, Brenda Jean Fralix, Wayne Fralix, Kernse Fralix, Estelle Fralix, and Francis Fralix.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Reverend Byron Earl Bruner; daughter, Melissa Bruner; son, Pastor Barry Clark (Karen), all of Ozark; three grandchildren, Payton Bruner, Ethan Clark (Shelby), and Anna Himes (Zack); great-grandson, Knox Clark; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Peggy Jeanette Sasser Lee of Samson, AL passed away Friday, October 17, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was 80.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Stacy Senn officiating. Burial will follow in Travelers Rest Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Peggy was born on April 17, 1945 to the late William Joseph and Lillie Mae Booth Sasser. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, with whom she loved spending her time. She loved to dance, gather with friends and family, and will forever be remembered by her beautiful and infectious smile. Peggy never met a stranger and will be missed by many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Orel Hudson “Lennie” Lee and one great grandson, Raine Mykel Owens.
Peggy is survived by three children, Glen Dewayne Lee, William Lennie “Bill” Lee and wife, Pia, and Lisa Gail Lee, all of Samson, AL; four grandchildren, Hannah Gail Owens of Samson, AL, Haley Owens Mims (Shannon) of Chancellor, AL, Chelsea Danielle Lee (Jeff Mooney) and Zachery Glen Owens, all of Samson, AL; life-partner, Dylan Senn of Samson, AL; seven great grandchildren and a host of friends who were like family.
Jerry Mathis “Mat” Gilliam, Jr., age 67 from Ashford, Alabama passed away peacefully in his home October 17, 2025.
Celebration of Life services will be announced held at a later date.
Mat was born May 14, 1958 and was a die hard Alabama fan who loved spending his days relaxing at Lake Eufaula fishing and boating.
Mat is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Mathis Gilliam, Sr and a son, Dustin Colt Gilliam.
Mat is survived by his mother, Wilma Jean Gilliam; son, Jerry Mathis Gilliam, III (Shanda); grandsons, Trent Blake Gilliam (Izzy), William Bradley Clements and a great grandson, Danny Mack Clements; sister, Pam Leverette (Ben); brother, Steve Gilliam (Ashley) and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

HEADLAND… Richard “Ric” Howard Money, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Friday morning, October 17, 2025, at his home. He was 75.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with Reverend Joel Laseter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Money was born in Headland, Alabama to the late Joe Howard “Pete” Money and Joan Hamm Money. He was a 1968 graduate of Headland High School. He attended Troy State University. He served his country and retired from the U.S. Army National Guard. He retired from Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant as nuclear engineer. Ric loved to travel. There was not and will not be a bigger Alabama Football Fan. He was a member of the American Hemerocallis Society (American Daylily Society). He was a dedicated member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Pamela Flowers Money.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife Terri Craft Money; his brothers, Steve Money, Shane Money (Janet), and Chris Money (Susan); his nieces and nephews, Leigh Watson (Tyrone), Samantha Garrett (Chipper), Kristin Money (Amanda), and Jolie Money; his great nephews and a great niece; and his beloved canine companion, Milli.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Charles Reneau, David Gulledge, Jack Watson, Chipper Garrett, Tyrone Watson, Rick Woodfin, Joey Brown, Curry Parker, Bill Jack Granberry, and Morris Parr.
