DOTHAN. . .Katherine Hull “Kathy” Lowe, a resident of Dothan, died Monday afternoon, December 23, 2024, in a Dothan hospital. She was 71.
There are no memorial or funeral services planned at this time. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Kathy Lowe was born in Oakland, California and was reared in New Carlisle, Ohio. She had lived in Dothan since 1984. Kathy was formerly employed by Home Oil Company as a Manager and was affectionately known as “KK”. She was preceded in death by her father, Victor Leroy Hull, a granddaughter, Haley Suggs-Foxworth and a nephew, David Winstead
Surviving relatives include her husband, William George Lowe, Jr.; daughters, Melissa Foxworth (Todd), Ashford; and Michele Kirkland, Dothan; her mother, Betty Pullins Hull, Dothan; brothers, Warren Hull (Avie), Rocky Mount, NC; and Matthew Hull (Raelynn), Huber Heights, Ohio; grandchildren, Tori Foxworth, Brook Lingo (Dustin), Olivia Rice and Bella Kirkland; great-grandchildren, Hunter Angelino and Wyatt Angelino; a niece, Beth Hull, a nephew, Brian Winstead.

Mr. Abe Norton, Jr., 90, a resident of Montgomery, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2024, at Hartford Healthcare, following an extended illness.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Fairview Addition Cemetery in Eufaula with Reverend Rick Campbell officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m., prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. Norton was born July 25, 1934, in Barbour County to the late Abe Norton, Sr. & Willie Mae Braswell Norton. At an early age he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He later received his education and became a lineman and worked for Dixie Electric Co-Op for 39 years. Mr. Norton enjoyed hunting and fishing, he was a proud member of the NRA, and was known as a true outdoorsman. He was known by all as a hardworker, and deeply loved his children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Walter Britt Norton, and John Edward Norton; and his sister, Willie Ruth Norton.

He is survived by his son, Walter Edward Norton of Panama City Beach, FL; his two daughters, Carrie Anita Norton, and Penny Ann Lemcool, both of Panama City Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Chase Wimpee, Holly Saliski, Mallory Norton, and Cody Wimpee; three great-grandchildren, Adysson Larson, Patley Saliski, and Lilly Saliski.

Janice (Ford) Windham

Janice, age 81, passed away peacefully and into the arms of Jesus at her home on Monday, December 23, 2024. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin as well as a friend to many.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. (ET) / 11:00 a.m. (CT) on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Oakview Church of God Cemetery (3595 Oakview Church Post Road, Donalsonville, GA 39845) with Reverend Chuck Locke officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Dothan directing.

Janice was born in Donalsonville, Georgia on November 7, 1943, to Edward Everett “Doc” Ford and Jewell (Herring) Ford. She was the third of five children. She was a 1961 graduate of Seminole County High School. In her late 30’s she went back to school and earned both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Personnel Management from Troy University while working full-time.

She began her career in 1961  and worked with several companies as a legal secretary and executive secretary before attending Troy University. After graduating from Troy, she worked in the Human Resources department at Southeast Alabama Medical Center before becoming the Houston County Personnel Director. After her time with Houston County, she started her own business as a Human Resource Consultant and continued until she retired.

She was preceded by both parents; her three siblings, Rex Ford, Royce Ford, and Teresa (Ford) Suggs; and her sister-in-law, Martha Ford; a niece, Stacey Chestnut Conoly; and a nephew, Kevin Ford.

She is survived by her only child, Vann Windham (Joy); two grandsons, Taylor Windham and Connor Windham; and her sister, Judy Brooks (Travis). She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews as well as cousins and friends.

Special thanks and heartfelt appreciation to Samantha Casey and Lynn Sawyer from Dayspring Hospice. The family also would like to say a special thanks to Ruth McGriff, Christine Oliver, and Patricia Walker, who helped with mom’s care during the last weeks of her life.

THOMAS COLYARD

WEBB… Thomas Colyard, a resident of Webb, Alabama, passed away Saturday morning, December 21, 2024, at his home. He was 85.

No services are planned at this time.

Mr. Colyard was born in Long Branch, New Jersey to the late Thomas Monroe Colyard, Sr. and Mildred Colyard. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk in the Stewart, Florida office. He was a member of the American Legion in Port St. Lucie, Florida. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator and a member of The Amatuer Radio Club where he won many awards.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Gail Hauselt and his brother, Robert Colyard.

Leaving to cherish his memories is his wife, Ingrid Kuhn Colyard; his daughters, Donna Blalock (Andy) and Andrea Wilson; his sons, Thomas Monroe Colyard III (Vicky) and John Robert Colyard (Melissa); his grandchildren, Eric Colyard, Thomas Colyard, Randy Wilson, Doug Wilson, Hanna Greece, Amy Robinson, Maliyah M. Colyard, and Issabella Hunter Colyard; his great-grandchildren, Avery Colyard, Koda Colyard, Randy Wilson, Jr., Max Wilson, and Olivia Wilson; along with many bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
