Bobby Gene Jordan, died June 13, 2026 in the arms of his wife and surrounded by his children. He born August 19, 1939, in Coffee Springs, Alabama, was the youngest child of William DeVota Jordan and Mattie Mae Anderson Jordan. He graduated from Coffee Springs High School and attended Troy State University. Bobby proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves and the Alabama National Guard.
On May 29, 1959, Bobby married the love of his life, Shirley June Vaughan. Together they shared 67 years of steadfast love and devotion, building a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.
Bobby and June began their life together in Alabama before settling in Milton, Florida, where Bobby worked for Chemstrand Corporation in Pensacola, later known as Monsanto. Throughout his 35-year career, Bobby worked primarily in research and development, contributing to multiple product innovations, including stain-resistant carpet fibers. His work took the family to Decatur, Alabama, and Raleigh, North Carolina, before returning to Milton in 1971.
Faith was the foundation of Bobby’s life and the guiding force behind everything he did. From an early age, he developed a deep and personal relationship with Christ that only grew stronger over the years. Together, Bobby and June were charter members of Pine Terrace Baptist Church, where he faithfully served in many capacities, including Sunday School teacher, deacon, youth director, and bi-vocational minister of music. Whether leading worship, teaching scripture, or mentoring young people, Bobby approached each role with humility, compassion, and a genuine desire to share God’s love.
After retiring in 1994, Bobby and June returned to Alabama, where they became poultry growers for ConAgra. During this time, they were active members of First Baptist Church of Geneva, continuing their lifelong commitment to service through choir, teaching, and Bobby’s work as a devoted deacon. His faith was not confined to the walls of the church; it was evident in the way he lived daily, offering encouragement, prayer, and kindness to everyone he encountered.
In 2012, Bobby and June returned to Milton, a move they considered a true answer to prayer, rejoining their beloved church family at Pine Terrace. Even as his health declined, Bobby’s faith never wavered. Known by many as a faithful prayer warrior, he spent countless hours praying for others, always eager to listen, uplift, and point people toward Christ. He lived out his faith with consistency and grace, leaving a legacy of spiritual strength and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Bobby’s life was a powerful testimony of what it means to walk faithfully with the Lord, trusting Him fully until his very last breath.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, June; their children, Terry (Maria) and Denise (Pete); six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; his brother, Don; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
