Cottonwood Fire has called in the Alabama Forestry Commission to help them fight a “major outdoor fire” in the area of Hickory Grove Road, according to Cottonwood Fire officials.
Rescue services were initially called because one person overheated while trying to help put the fire out.
The Alabama Forestry Commission will be in route soon.
Cottonwood Fire is doing their best to knock the fire back, but the area is thickly forested, so brush trucks may not be able to cut through.
The fire comes as the Wiregrass is under a wind advisory.
