21-year-old arrested for stabbing juvenile, mother charged with tampering with evidence in Walton County

WALTON COUNTY, FLA— A 21-year-old was arrested in the stabbing of a juvenile at a party in Freeport Saturday night.
Walton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call just before 10 pm from the victim’s friends as they called for help while en route to the hospital. The caller told deputies their friend had been stabbed while at a party at a residence off Portland Park Road.
Deputies met up with the caller and victim at Grady Brown Park. Walton County Fire Rescue responded and transported the victim with stab wounds to the head and neck area.
Additional calls came in regarding the incident at 187 Portland Park Road. Deputies responded to the address interviewed multiple witnesses and reviewed video evidence. All parties identified John Byron Kingkade, 21, as the suspect and said they saw him stab the victim with a knife multiple times.
Kingkade was subsequently charged with aggravated battery and aggravated child abuse. He was given a $500,000 bond and is still incarcerated at the time of this release.
Kingkade’s mother, Krystal Rabon Kingkade, 41, was also arrested following the incident. She faces charges of tampering with evidence after telling witnesses to delete cell phone video of the incident. She was released Sunday afternoon on a $15,000 bond.

DALE COUNTY:     4:26 PM    Ozark – Dale County 911 have dispatched fire – EMS and Dale County Sheriff Department to a working structure fire.

The fire location is 314 Lakefront Road, Ozark Alabama. Think this address is Whispering Lakes Subdivision between Midland City and Ozark.

Reports to Ozark – Dale County 911 a trailer is on fire in front of the lake. Reports are half of the structure is already gone at the time of dispatch.

Dale County Sheriff Deputies are on the scene and as of this writing do not know what fire departments and EMS that are responding or on the scene.

Responding to the structure fie, Newton Volunteer Fire, Pinckard Volunteer Fire and Ewell Volunteer Fire, Pinckard Police Department and Dale County Sheriff Department.

At the time of dispatch half of the structure was reported gone. The fireman were quick on the scene and aggressive attack which saved some of the structure. It was reported to have been an abandoned structure.

Warming shelter to open Saturday ahead of severe weather, cold temperatures

The City of Dothan and the Southeast Alabama Coalition for the Homeless (SEACH) are opening a warming station Saturday evening ahead of severe storms and low temperatures.

The warming station will be at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, behind the main church building.

It will open Saturday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. and remain open until Monday, Feb. 17 at 9 a.m.

The Family Life Center doors will be locked each night at 9 p.m. Meals and cots will be provided.
