Lovetown Fire protected a shed, trailer and home from being burned by an outdoor fire on Rainbow Road just after noon Thursday.
An outdoor fire began on Rainbow Road after a spark from an electrical line, but Lovetown Fire Brush 1 and Command 1 responded and knocked the fire back. Cottonwood Rescue was in the area to assist.
On January 29, 2025, Mirna Candelaria Tec-Acte left the area of Mill Avenue in Enterprise, AL, and has not returned. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and white and blue high-top tennis shoes. Her direction of travel is unknown at this time. If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of Mirna Tec-Acte, please contact the Enterprise Police Department at (334) 347-1211.
A former Headland High School coach was found dead after being reported missing.
Samuel “Sammy” Jackson, 59, was a Henry County Hall of Fame member who played for and graduated from Headland in 1982. He coached at Headland High from 2020-22.
He went missing on Sunday while working as an Uber Eats driver in Fort Valley, Georgia, where he used to coach at the local university.
Jackson was last seen at a Dollar General in the Warner Robbins or Macon area.
While reports indicate he spoke to his wife on Sunday, his wife received a text from his phone around 2 a.m. Monday asking what his Social Security number was.
His vehicle was found in Bonaire. It was unlocked and had items strewn around the seats and floorboard.
It’s currently unclear if foul play is suspected in his death. The investigation is ongoing.
The much loved “Stars under the Stars: Family Movie Night” series is back and ready to bring an evening of family fun to the community. Due to chilly wintry weather, this event has moved from its usual outdoor setting at Wadlington Park in Downtown Dothan to the cozy indoor venue of Westgate Gym. So, grab your loved ones, bundle up, and head over for a night of entertainment that’s sure to warm your hearts!
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the movie will begin at 7:00 p.m. Admission is completely free, and popcorn is included, making it a fun and affordable evening for the whole family. In addition to the free popcorn, there will be other paid offerings available, including water and drinks for just $1 each. All proceeds from these sales will benefit our Afterschool Program.
To make the evening even more enjoyable, guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets for a cozy and comfortable experience. For those who prefer not to bring their own seating, bleacher seating will also be available. This is a perfect opportunity for families to come together and enjoy a night of entertainment in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
