Drivers formed a vehicle roadblock in order to protect the child

I am typically pretty private but would like to take this time to give all the glory to our Heavenly Father while sharing the biggest praise report & painting a beautiful picture of strangers coming together.
Yesterday afternoon Hollis and I ran to Dothan to run a couple of errands. Haynes was spending the afternoon with his beloved Muzzy. While traveling home on our busy highway in the east bound lane, I noticed something (a view I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy) My 9 year old autistic son driving his bicycle (something he loves to do and has done 100 times in the same manner (even parks in same spot & has never once ventured to the highway) With cars swerving all around him. Keep in mind this stretch of highway typically sees 60/70+ mph averages. I was later told that a semi truck had to lock brakes and later formed a barricade with other drivers to keep my baby safe.
After seeing him swerving around and still on the bike with some cars behind him still in motion, I went into “true mother bear mode” and swerved my car towards the median in hopes of intercepting him. I didn’t even think twice about cars coming, I just went and was struck on my driver door at a very high rate of speed.
To all of the precious people who stopped along with first responders, we could never thank you enough. To the man who held Hollis while I crawled out the opposite side (hollis immediately cracked a joke about needing a new car as we were crawling out 🤪 so I knew he was 100% safe) You have the most comforting voice and caring arms. To the caring individuals who immediately noticed Haynes needed a safe place to land and guided him there when I couldn’t , you are my heros.
To our Muzzy, you have always gone above and beyond for him & yesterday was no different. He was just too fast and slipped away racing that bike to his next adventure. I can’t imagine what it felt like for her to watch him cross the entire hwy. To the UPS driver who came and unloaded my husband’s truck & delivered his stops so that he could be with us, thank you, it was the end of the day and I know you were tired.
To Tyler Watson, you are a different breed. Thank you for running across the hwy to get Haynes and placing him in my hands, offering to take his bike home & staying the entire time. The Lord knew we needed your calm spirit and he placed you there. He actually wrote this entire story and I’ve been awake for over 36 hours praising and thanking him. Not only for protecting my child who had nothing outside of his nike outfit shielding his little body, but for covering the other lady involved, Hollis & myself.
I checked out with an overnight stay, several bumps and bruises paired with bilateral hemorrhages in the occipital region. Nothing that warrants major concern to the Drs at SE Health due to their size. The staff at SE Health quickly let me know that they were aware of the incident & handled us with caring voices and hands.
I’m just so thankful all the way around. I’m tired. Shook. Traumatized. BUT oh so thankful and hopeful that we can gradually settle back into our normal soon.
Thank you all for the prayers, calls, text, food and visits. We are so incredibly blessed and thankful. Love to all ❤️
