DOTHAN: 2:58 PM Dothan School Board Member Brenda Guilford has called a Special Called Board Meeting for Monday August 11, 2025 at 5:30 PM. The agenda reads to approve the employment contract for the new school superintendent.
The meeting was not called by the Chairman of the Dothan City School Board, but by Brenda Guilford who is Vice Chair of the board.
The contract is already signed by the new school superintendent. I do not know his name because my fight is about this board violating the Alabama Open Meetings Law. Not about the man who they appointed. I do not know his full name and on purpose never checked him out.
My fight is about their hiding from the public. Today I went to the Central Office and asked for a copy of the proposed contract. The lady at the Central Office refused to provide a copy even though the item is on the printed agenda. The City of Dothan, not to be confused by the Dothan School Board, provides documentation with every item on the agenda.
Now when you see the contract, you will need to add all of the numbers. LOL… it is worded to decieve the public exactly what they are paying. And the contract will extend past the next election.
Several current members of the Dothan School Board have been involved in three Superintendents that the Dothan City Schools has had to pay their contract out. That is what this battle is about to include the compensation.
The McGowan Law Firm, which represents me, has filed an Emergency Injunction today because the board, Brett Strickland, Melanie Hill, Franklin Jones and Brenda Guilford, are determined to ink this 5 year contract forcing the next board to live with it.
I really hope this man is a GREAT SUPERINTENDENT. Contrary to some racists who are trying to make this about race, this fight is not about the race of who has been selected. It is about this board hiding things from the citizens of the City of Dothan.
DOTHAN: 3:56 PM You have heard the saying, DO NOT COUNT YOUR EGGS UNTIL THEY ARE ALL HATCHED !!!
That is the case in the Dothan School Board Chairman. There were two candidates for School Board Chairman, Julie Mullins Turner and Wes Grant. The counts reflect Turner with 50.1% ( 3,701 ) votes to Grant 49.9% ( 3,689 ) votes. A difference of 12 votes.
But there is still one egg left to be counted. PROVISIONAL VOTES. And there are 38 provisional votes to be counted. And those will be counted on Monday, August 11 at 10:00 AM in the Dothan Commission Chambers.
As of right now, with a spread 12 votes, the 38 provisional votes can change the outcome.
While the 38 provisional votes are city wide, Commission District 1 there were two candidates, Vivian Daniels and Incumbent Kevin Dorsey. Daniles had 50.3% ( 539 ) and Dorsey 49.7% ( 533 ). That is a difference of 6 votes. The provisions are 38 city wide.
As of right now, with a spread of 6 votes, the 38 provisional votes can change the outcome.
HOUSTON COUNTY: 4:42 PM This afternoon Kenny Glasgow was notified that Houston County Sheriff Department had arrest warrants for Kenny Glasgow. He was told that he had to turn himself in.
Kenny Glasgow contacted Rickey Stokes of A – Advantage Bonding ( 334-712-9988 ). Stokes told Glasgow to come to his office, 109 East Adams Street. Houston County Sheriff Department was contacted that Kenny Glasgow was at the offices of Stokes, A – Advantage Bonding, 109 East Adams Street and we understand they had warrants. The warrants were confirmed and Houston County Sheriff Deputy Roney responded.
Deputy Roney responded, alone, and obeyin all traffic laws. Without incident Deputy Roney took custody of Kenny Glasgow and transported to Houston County Jail. A – Advantage Bonding ( Rickey Stokes ) has signed Kenny Glasgow bond and he will be released as soon as processed.
The charge is Practicing Law Without A License. Glasgow filed for an injunction against the Alabama Secretary of State – Wes Allen, Alabama Department of Corrections Commissioner – John Hamm, and Houston County Sheriff – Donald Valenza. The lawsuit filed was concenring not letting inmates vote.
Glasgow filed the injunction under the corporate names of the organizations he is in charge of and owns. But a individiual can not represent a corporation. A individual can represent himself or herself.
THE CITY OF DOTHAN OR DOTHAN POLICE DEPARTMENT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS MATTER.
This was a complaint from someone in the court system to the Houston County Sheriff Department.
I’m Dave Stock and I’m running to be your Commissioner in District 4. You probably already know I’m a retired military pilot who’s built successful businesses and made significant improvements/investments in Downtown Dothan. Those things are true, but I also love our city and I genuinely care about our future!
Dothan deserves a commissioner who understands our challenges and has been involved in our community for years. While out campaigning people always ask me why I joined this race and the answer is pretty simple: I want to help Dothan become more efficient and successful and make our lives better and easier! I bring decades of senior program management and business experience, in addition to strategic leadership and planning skills, that we need on the commission and isn’t found in other departments.
From the day I joined this race I told everyone what I believe and why I’m running. I laid out a list of priorities that included better roads, stronger schools, less crime and homelessness, NO NEW TAXES, and support for my fellow veterans. I haven’t changed my message from day 1 and I was the first candidate to even publish a platform…That’s true leadership!
If you’ve talked with me or saw any candidate forums/debates I’m pretty certain you’d agree that I’m a leader who knows what we need to do to be successful, but I also have the wisdom to know what will hurt our community. I have the most life, career, and business experience of any candidate in the race and I promise to serve our city with honesty, integrity, transparency, and dedication.
I’m also going to serve as your commissioner for free because I feel it’s the right thing to do, and I want to help those charities that really need the money. I’m not doing it or telling you this to brag, but to show you that my heart is to serve our city and not make more money. I also decided to self-fund my campaign because I want you to know I’m loyal to our citizens, not a bunch of wealthy donors who are trying to buy influence in our government.
Elections have consequences and I sure hope our citizens realize I’m the only leader, innovator, and veteran who knows what’s going on and has a plan to fix it. I will stand up for what’s right and be your voice in our government, and I’ll be here to help if you have any issues. Please give me a chance to help our city…I won’t let you down. I respectfully ask for your vote this Tuesday!

This is a domestic related shooting. There is no suspect on the loose.
The police can not prevent domestic related instances. UNPREDICTABLE. And this “Dothan” apartment complex does not have much law enforcement activity so not many times police are called there.
